The number of classes fit all ages. The pool and equipment are kept in good clean
condition.
I really like the variety of activities the program offers. My daughter has had the opportunity to participate in acting classes, karate, and many other fun activities. I also really appreciate that they provide homework help and support the kids academically. They do a great job of keeping the children active, engaged, learning, and having fun at the same time.
First of all, out of a population of 40,000 on Cape Ann, I heard that 15,000 people are members of the Cape Ann YMCA. So you obviously are doing something right! The staff is top notch, very capable, knowledgeable and friendly, they have state of the art equipment and an egym system that connects with my fitbit and other fitness devices that keep track of my points, motivate me to work out by giving me the Mission Impossible level to achieve and my biological age, which is supposedly 40, although my chronological age is 61! I see people from every walk of life, both genders and all ages. This is the most positive, inspiring form of peer pressure one needs to keep active and keep going to work out. They have all varieties of classes so no matter what your taste, ability etc. there is something for you. And you can get there for free by taking the CATA but or for only $2 by taking CATA on demand. I lost my husband suddenly last year and at that time I had been a couch potato for over a year, well a working couch potato but I had not been doing the 15,000 steps and 40 pushups, sit-ups and squats every day so was just physically out of shape and depressed. I got back with the YMCA and next thing you know I am obsessed with working out and go to the gym 6 days a week. I start running in to all kinds of people and start getting my mojo back while also reversing my age. I feel empowered, young and vibrant now and I owe most of that to the Cape Ann YMCA. I am finally grateful for the financial assistance until I get back to normal financially. I cannot say enough good things about this place and all of the people who make it work for us all!
I look forward to walking into the Y each time - people there make you feel welcome starting with the greeter. The facilities are great - clean, lots of variety, and people around to help. There are support services and facilities for those looking for something in addition to exercise too. Little one are cared for and there are exercise classes for elderly men and women too. The fees are reasonable - what's not to like!

It’s clean, good machines, wide open with plenty of room. My only other thought would be to bring in another butterfly machine. The one is very popular and can sometimes be frustrating to try and get on to.
Clean facilities, availability of machines, friendly staff. In general it just feels like you’re in a good place when you’re there.
