The coaching is great as is the community. My son is really loving golf and a lot of it has to do with the Junior PGA league.
I like the best ball format and the fun 'team' approach to the matches. It takes the pressure off beginning golfers and provides a fun atmosphere.
I liked the coaching for my son along with the ability to have him practice his golf through free rounds at the course. It also kept him busy and active.
I do wish that range balls were included in the cost, as there were times he didn’t have time to play a round, and/or just wanted to practice his swing, and/ or become more familiar with clubs distances. However, that would not prevent me from recommending the league. He really enjoyed it!
My kids play in lots of stroke play tournaments and one match play tournament every year. We like PGA Jr. League because it is a nice change in format from their regular tournaments, and is fun with the team focus. As a parent, it is actually far more fun to watch because any one hole has more importance than in stroke play.
My son really enjoyed playing in PGA Jr. League. It was laid out in a way if your a competitive golfer you can enjoy it, but the same goes for someone new to competitive golf. Strongly recommend

The program at Edgewood is fantastic. The instructors are positive and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is great for kids of all skill levels.

It is a great way to introduce another form of the game. It is also a great way for kids who are interested in playing golf to meet other kids that share the same interest creating friendships and golf buddies that could end up being for the rest of their lives. I love that the PGA professional take time out of their days to help teach young kids the correct way to play the game and make it fun but competitive at the same time.
Kids learn good life skills & practices along with having fun while learning the Basics of Golf - have always been impressed with the staff and program. Thank You.

Our son really enjoyed the scramble format. He was partnered with another player who was 4 years older but their respective skills complemented each other very well. They often played teams with kids of similar age to the older partner, which was intimidating for our son at first but as the season went on he became much more confident in himself. Playing with the older kids also helped out significantly with our son’s obsession with improving distance with the driver. He came to terms with the fact that he would not be able to drive the ball as far as the older kids, but he could be still be successful by being consistent with all his clubs and selecting them wisely.
I love that the kids get to play golf in a low pressure environment. It encourages communication and collaboration between teammates and is just plain fun for the kids! Great stepping stone between lessons and playing a match alone.

It’s organized, professional (but not over the top), respectful, competitive and fun for the kids. It’s an outstanding learning environment for young golfers from etiquette to strategy to sportsmanship to skill development to teamwork to golf knowledge. How incredibly cool it is to see these kids develop friendships with kids across the state. Simply a great experience for youth with an interest in golf.
A recommendation…work hard at developing golf programs and comfortable learning environments for those less fortunate.
