My primary activity is lap swimming. I like the wide lane lines, the temperature of the pool (most other area Y's keep theirs too warm), and the life guards in the AM do a great job -- particularly Bill.
I like all of the options for workouts. One thing I would like to see is olympic plates in the deadlift area. The bar is too low to the ground and can be hard for taller people especially. I'm 6'4'' and the bar should be a few more inches from the group because Olympic plates are wider. Just a suggestion.
The facilities and workers are both top notch!
The thing I like best about my YMCA is attentiveness and general kindness from the staff (Julie is my favorite). I am always greeted with a “good morning”, and leave with a “have a great day.” Any issue I have, or help I need, is always met with understanding and action from the staff. From membership aid, to pumping my basketball up, I never feel like a burden to the staff— I truly feel like they care about their members. Heck, a few of them have taken the time to learn my name. I know there are cheaper options for gyms in my area, but the cleanliness of the building and unmatched kindness from the staff makes it impossible to leave.

This YMCA location has a variety of opportunities to exercise, regardless of your age. There is no pressure on anyone, and you can work at your own pace.
