Love the AOA (Active Older Adults) program at Northwest YMCA. The instructors are knowledgeable and fun. The classes are varied from Zumba Gold, Young at Heart, Silver Sneakers, Gentle Yoga and Line Dance. I have met so many wonderful people in my classes and have formed meaningful friendships. Fun to exercise with others. The classes are excellent. Have made alot of new friends.
I don’t participate in any programs or activities I just use the gym.
The instructors are very nice. We just wish that it was not open swim to the other Y members while lessons were going on. Other kids and adults that did not pay for lessons constantly got in the way and splashed my kids during swim lessons, and it was both distracting and annoying. This was frustrating since this is a service we pay for and I'm not sure if I will be signing my kids up next year for lessons if it's going to be open to members while lessons are going on. This also made it hard to find shaded seating because so many people were there during our lesson time.

I was impressed with the swim classes my sons took at the YMCA Northwest Ft Worth. They were always promptly on time, got right into lessons, minimized distractions and goofing around, and taught in an encouraging way while challenging the kids to do their best. It was so awesome to see how excited my son was at the end of the program because he could finally swim without a life jacket! Both my boys really liked their instructor and I appreciated her daily feedback. We will definitely be coming back for more swim lessons.

I love Body Pump, it makes me get up in the morning and feel happy after wards.
A good variety of instructor led exercise classes suitable for seniors are included with membership. And you do not have to "sign up" for these classes. You can just show up and participate whenever you like. VERY GOOD.

My girls have learned a lot within the 2 weeks they did their swim lessons. We go every summer and each time they progress. Staff were helpful. Wish they would communicate about rescheduling days via email so we aren’t having to call and find out through staff members.
