Very friendly facility. It offers a good variety of fitness classes for all levels. It gives me an opportunity to meet new people and stay active.
I had a very good experience st the Y in Hampton.l will be going back.l enjoy the activities, and the instructor, Robbie is so sweet.l am so happy that the activies pretty close together, so l don't have to do a lot of walking because l tire out so quick.Everyone is so friendly.

This is a beautiful, historic building on Fort Monroe. Very friendly staff. Well maintained equipment. Usually good access to all equipment during exercise session. Plenty of large lockers. Cleans bath facilities. Always has hot shower water available. Weakest points ar no swimming pool or hot tub. The historic building exterior wood is in pretty poor condition.

I love the feel of this Y. The staff at the front desk during the day is always welcoming and willing to answer questions. The gym always looks and smells clean. The equipment is always working and nothing is broken on the machines. The bathrooms are neat, clean, stocked, and smell good. I don't have children but I always feel like the children are protected and cared for. Safety is a priority. I like that there is a staff member in different locations throughout the gym. This makes me feel safe, too. I always like the variety of information and encouragement in my fitness, faith and more at the entrance.

The Luter YMCA has everything we need. The staff is friendly and helpful. The classes have varied times to accommodate people's schedules.

The Instructor for my swim class is an amazing human. He is very supportive and a great encourager. As a senior learning to swim in a group of 4, he tailors the instruction to meet students needs. He gives equal focus to each one of us. Kudos to him.
The front desk is a hit or miss. I was very impressed with the gentleman who registered me for the February swim class. I tried to register earlier but the lady at the front ignored me and was in a conversation with another Y staff.
We like the wide variety of athletic experiences available for our kids at prices we can afford. Our boys are older beginners and it's nice that they still have options appropriate for them.
Silver Sneakers
I've been coming to R.F. Wilkinson YMCA since the Spring of 2024 - attending the Silver Sneakers program. Can't say enough good things about that class. Tina is our personable and professionally capable leader who encourages us attendees ( of widely varied ages and abilities) to push ourselves to excel but also do only what is comfortable at the time. The combination of aerobics and strength training put to music is absolutely terrific, and to enhance the experience I've gotten to meet tons of new friends! Getting to see the adorable little folks who are in the two different child care programs provided by the Y is 'food for my heart". There have been a few fun events such as the Halloween week festivities and the pot-luck luncheon on the 31st that just put the cherry on the top of a delightful experience. Forgot to mention that literally every time I arrive, I am greeted cheerfully by a YMCA staff member, and they've always helped with any questions. I am truly thankful for the Y and will highly recommend its programs for anyone I encounter.
