I'm a brand new member--joined 15 Jan 2025. Am not the best at remembering names, but the first person I met was at the reception desk (Joy?). She was refreshingly welcoming as she greeted me, told me about the facility and set up my membership. She patiently answered every question I had. She struck me as being a genuinely happy employee who enjoys what she does. A shout out to the management team at Ft Monroe YMCA. Next day, I attended the 0Phone number removed Full Body Workout class. Great instructor (Catherine?) Was also helped by Emily, who resourcefully got me scheduled for my Smart Start appointment. Am looking forward to a long and healthy relationship with the Ft Monroe YMCA team.

Everything, the layout of the gym, the people are super friendly.
I love the Y, have been at Victory Y for many years. I enjoy aqua aerobics plus other classes as well, even though I’m not able to participate in those classes right now. I like the family atmosphere, everyone is friendly, helpful and welcoming.
Only thing that is missing right now though is the pool equipment ie. the dumbbells/weights. The smaller and medium sized ones need to be thrown out and replaced, a lot of them are missing the foam pieces that hold them apart. We are a lot of seniors that enjoy pool workouts because they’re easier on the joints and would appreciate functional pool workout equipment.
I like the large variety of options throughout the Y. I also appreciate that my children can come with me and gain the benefits of physical activity and community.

The Y experience is first class in every way. The equipment equipment and facility are constantly updated and improved. The programs and staff are excellent.
