I like the swimming pool activities that my wife enjoys. They also have events for senior adults to get together and socialize. Both are helpful and appreciated.
We just use the gym. We really need the atmosphere in there and the equipment is nice.
One suggestion, I have is several pick up trucks back into the parking spaces along the front of the building with hitches. When they do that, they block the sidewalk. It’s tough for senior citizens to walk as there’s not enough room. There should be a sign that says do not back into parking spots.
Staff is always friendly and helpful. Our water exercise instructure is great yah Cathie.

Instructors are wonderful. I like that I can make the class as hard as I need it and great a great workout.

I usually come to swim when Powell Crosley 's pool is not open. I have been a Y member since 1965. I belonged to GNY and went there almost exclusively until sometime in the early 2000's.. I stopped going to GNY because so many times, there was no guard, I swam at 6 because I had to go to work). I just got tired of it. Imagine my surprise, when I was told on Friday, that I couldn't swim outside because there was no guard for outside. I know former and current YMCA guards. Apparently 1. CRC pays more. 2.There is no true Aquatic Director, only head guards with not much people experience. So when a guard tries ti reprimand simeone, there is no one who will back them up. I was a guard once, I get it. I wouldn't want to work there either if I knew no one had my back. Sad, GNY, used to be a great Y. It no longer is.

I was surprised the outdoor baby pool was concreted in this year. There doesn’t seem to be much transition available outdoors for the little ones who don’t know how to swim yet.
cardio and weight room
I really enjoy the fitness classes. I regularly attend the Water Fitness classes and the Silversneakers Classic classes. Attending these classes hels me stay active and I also enjoy interacting with the other participants.
From my recent visit I found the atmosphere very pleasant. Pool and locker room well kept. The staff was pleasant and full of smiles. I'm sure I will be back
