I'm very likely to recommend the Y to a friend or family member but I really do wish the Catonsville facility was more watchful about the amount of kids running around in the weight room. It would be fine if they were behaved but most of the time they're not.
The fellowship and making new friends. Our instructor, Dana, is fabulous, and we are so blessed to have her.
Colleen is a great trainer--personable and keeps me working to get stronger after surgery.
Maintained equipment (especially the pool), friendly and helpful staff, and knowing it is hard to find life guards, sponsoring life guard training and doing whatever you do to keep them at the facilities.

Variety of classes
I attend regularly and enjoy the sense of community and quality of group exercise instruction. Two areas of improvement that would enhance the Catonsville Y; first monitoring class size and closing off late arrivals when room is full; secondly, improving cleanliness of the group exercise rooms.

Lap lane access to the pool. Lap swim in’s awesome. I also like how easy it was to get my son his swim test.

The adult water exercises
Staff are very, very helpful and I have been given great advice when needed.I enjoy the classes I take and love my trainer, Alli!! The only irritating thing, and my husband feels the same, is when you want to do your ActivTrax and people are just sitting and texting on the machines. No problem that they are being used... but folks should move along since there are many who want to finish their routines. Thanks.

The pool
I'm feeling very thankful for my membership at the Y and I'm working on submitting an application so I can be a part of local efforts towards health and great community supports. I'm particularly thankful to Mary Grace for sharing with me about an open role that makes sense for me right now.
Can't wait to swim again soon. My little loves open swim in the warm pool.
