The Spurlino Y feels like a big family, the trainers, custodians, employees, etc are always around and its always the same familiar faces so it never feels like they're just rotating staff in and out. Its always a friendly environment there.
The facility is clean, well-equipped, machines are mechanically kept up. Staff is positive, knowledgeable and happy to see members.
Membership is covered by my health plan.
I am able to maintain good health and strength through my membership and I have met members who have become good friends.

We have enjoyed our membership with the YMCA. Our experience with swim lessons the pool area and now volleyball have been excellent. We will continue to participate and look forward to the growth of the YMCA. The food trucks and vendors on Saturday are a huge bonus!
All the employees are so friendly and kind. They updated the machines so they are all new. The space is nice and even when crowded, not uncomfortable.

Trainers, leaders, front desk are really friendly. Many classes to choose from (although some are really crowded).
The organization, quality of counselors, skills taught and long enough hours for us to work while the kids are in camp!
I'm really grateful that this camp exists, and the weekly themes sound so fun and engaging. That said, my 7-year-old hasn’t been able to share much about the themed activities, and I’m not sure if the themes are being implemented in ways that are clear and memorable for the kids. From what he describes, each day feels pretty similar, and it’s hard to tell whether the weekly theme is being brought to life. He seemed surprised to learn about the week's theme on a Thursday when we read the board. He couldn't identify a single thing that week that could have been related to the theme.
Also, we spoke with someone earlier in the summer about outdoor time, and they mentioned that the plan was to shift to more indoor activities as the temperatures increase. I’m not sure if that adjustment has been made yet, but my son came home with a heat rash during the first week. He feels like there's too much time spent out on the soccer fields where he says he overheats the most. He also asks to be dropped off after the morning yard time and picked up before the afternoon yard time because of how hot it is. Florida summers can be intense, especially for younger kids who are running around, so any extra pool time, inside time, or cooldown breaks really make a difference.

Great place to be. I would strongly recommend that the YMCA give 2nd chance opportunities for people with not so good backgrounds to become involved with volunteering their time to give back.
