My daughter really enjoys it, and for the most part it seems like everyone is very helpful. The only the thing I disliked this past season was the late Saturday games. It made it hard for her us to do things or she had to miss.

Staff are very friendly. Cordial upon check-in. Seem to be always willing to help. Equipment is new and maintained in the weight's area. I enjoy to feel of the location and never have significant issues with equipment availability.

I love the availability of leagues and seasons throughout the year. 5 in total I believe. One big change I would like to see is incorporate more skills practices, at the expense of games. Having a couple season at least where there are fewer games and more of an emphasis on fundamentals. There are many kids in 9-10, 11-12 and beyond divisions who have played many seasons but still have poor dribbling and shooting form, for example. Since the scoreboard is on for games, the coaches and many parents want to win. This means a dominant player or two will do the bulk of the scoring. The team may get the Win, but the lesser skilled players don't get much out of it. They don't get as many minutes or maybe only 2 or less shot attempts. For a 7 week season, there are more game minute than practice minutes. Players are only playing half the game (the better players more) so their development is slowed further.
Our experience was especially great because of our coach, Grayson Kelly (5-6 summer coed). He was excellent with the kids, and our son is walking away with new skills and someone he enjoyed spending time with
My child had an incredible experience participating in the YMCA basketball league this season. From the very first practice to the final game, it was clear how much thought and effort went into the program. Coach Parag was exceptional- not only was he patient and encouraging, but he also had a great ability to break down the fundamentals in a way the kids could understand. As the season progressed, he gradually introduced more advanced skills, keeping the players challenged and engaged.
It was amazing to see my child’s growth over the course of the seasonand not just in terms of basketball skills, but also in confidence, teamwork, and understanding of the game. Every week, he looked forward to practices and games, and that enthusiasm is a testament to the positive, supportive environment Coach Parag created. We’re so grateful for the experience and can’t wait for the next season!
My daughter has played three seasons so far and has really had a good experience with the coach (same coach all three) and her teams she played with.

The staff at the downtown Y couldn't be any better. The facility is well managed and kept clean.
Our son had an awesome basketball season with coach Maurice. We would like to express my sincere appreciation for him. His excellent leadership has been a positive influence on all the kids. What's also remarkable is his sensitivity and ability to truly understand each student's needs and personality. We feel very fortunate to have had him as a coach.
Our kid had a great experience. I give the coaches so much credit since I would not have the patience to deal with a bunch of 6 year olds sitting in the middle of the court when they're trying to teach some basic rules to the game. They did a great job harnessing the energy into the game.
Being part of the volleyball team at the Y has been an amazing experience. It’s not just about playing the game it’s about teamwork, growth, and community. The coaches are supportive, the environment is positive, and I’ve made great friendships along the way. The Y gives us a space to stay active, build confidence, and have fun. That’s why I always recommend it!

There are a good number of teams and games which gives our players many opportunities for game play experience.
Appreciate the small focused classes. Instructors are very patient. Facilities are clean. My daughter really enjoyed classes and looked forward to them. Her technique and confidence in the water are certainly improved!
I really enjoyed the swimming lessons and the different pools. The instructors were nice and friendly. I do believe with a few more sessions, my child would know how to swim. I appreciate the small group lessons, so each child was able to get dedicated and hands-on experience. However, the first lesson, it was very confusing and no one greeted or let me know where I should be and who I should be with. We also never received a quick tour of the pool areas to show us the restrooms and change areas.
Love the atmosphere. My son enjoys it.
