I love the community so positive, uplifting and inclusive. The facility is clean and I have really enjoy using the equipment to strengthen my knee. I have taken 2 private boxing classes that were super fun and plan to do more. I’ve seen lots of friends from the past and that’s fun too.
The variety of classes
The instructors are very caring and patient to offer other options on a particular exercise that me as a senior, am not able to do. The activities/programs are so much fun.
At the Y I feel comfortable with those around me and sense of inclusion. I can enjoy my weights workout followed by visit to pool area. 😀
The instructors are great!

absolutely love the kids swim programs. very thankful to have them there
Good instructors are important to keep me signing up for classes. Amy Herndon is great. I have been attending her spin classes for years! First at the SW Y and now at Town Lake. Other spin instructors that are great include Albino, Alison and Smitha. When I was taking the masters swim program, Rowan was a great instructor. I think it's important to certain members that having consistent instructors is what keeps them coming back.
I love the community that's built. Having your staff greet us is just one way. Everyone is here, young, old, disabled, mentally challenge.
The Y at Townlake has been a weekly home base for me since my kids (now 37 and 25 years old) were small children . All of us benefited from the programs and the family like loving staff (then and now) that helped all along way. I continue to thrive there as I fortify my own"second childhood" now that I have reached my elder years. To help me accomplish that, the Y's classes and personal trainers welcome and strengthen me each step of the way. Also, because the Y collaborates with so many vital community organizations like Power for Parkinson's, I get to summon and fortify the "power" of my stamina in the best company ever! Exercising with or next to so many familiar members of the Y, I get to meet whatever physical challenges my diagnosis demands of me with more gusto! Also through the variety of programs designed for elders and the facilities' perks (like the dry sauna and hot tub etc).--I meet so many of mental, physical and spiritual balance there! I love the diversity of humans I meet there while I work out; some of us tend to have the same weekly or daily schedules and I get inspired seeing them meet whatever goals they have chosen and/or the physical challenges they too have to live with. Together, even if we don't say a word to each other every time, I leave their feeling very gratified, resilient and full of joy to meet whatever awaits me elsewhere! Thank you staff and volunteers at Townlake for helping to make it such a special place!

I am constantly impressed by the sense of community and the quality of the facilities and the equipment at the YMCA. Honestly, this is one of the best gyms I’ve been to.
