I always park in preferred on the North side and on my last trip the return driver dropped everyone off on the lot before returning to the ramp, and I was the last one dropped off. Typically not a problem, but in this case, I was in quite a hurry to leave. My understanding is that drop offs start in the ramp prior to the lot. I know there is construction on the street but that really shouldn’t make a difference.
