This particular time, they really went out of their way to offer cost effect options for smoke odor in the house, and when the product that was needed was not on the truck, the head technician from the office brought it over and also spent a little time talking with me about solution options. See my first trip review for 1/27/17.
Kenny was the 2nd tech sent to attempt to correct the mess left on the first trip. Kenny was polite, friendly, and did his best to correct the situation. Since our carpets had remained wet and then damp for 3 days and since they had a tacky feeling when touched, Kenny redid the entire house and spent time vacuuming up the excess water left from the first visit. The carpet dried pretty much in about 10 hours and the tacky feeling was gone. Kenny removed almost all the original spots and cleaned the stairs which looked uncleansed after the first visit. Overall, our house looked as we expected it to look after a cleaning.
Unfortunately, the orange spot in my office returned after the carpet dried (wicking?).
On a 3rd trip Kenny tried again and again the spot disappeared while wet but returned as the carpet dried. However, the spot looked to be about 85% to 90% gone when dry.
A fourth trip by a new tech Caleb focused only on that orange spot. Again it disappeared while wet and he tried to dry it fast with fans. But, the next day it returned. It currently is about ~97% gone. With the blinds opened and nothing in that area you can still see the slightly darker area as if something spilled on it.
My concern is that if we decide to sell the house later this year (a possibility) a buyer may insist on cleaning the carpets again and if that area does not clean up we could have a carpet replacement situation. Unfortunately, the stairs, the 2nd floor landing, and the 3 rooms upstairs are all one continuous carpeted area. Re-carpeting one room is really not an option since it will not match.
Possibly Caleb can offer his input since he tried his best to stop the wicking that is apparently happening.
You folks have been very responsive to this unexpected problem and if the first trip had never occurred, I'd easily rate you as and A+. But the first trip did occur.
Kenny and Caleb were both sharp and a credit to your firm. Ricardo is not. Maybe it was a bad day for him or faulty equipment was involved.
