Member Testimonials
The Y has become my extended home. All the people I like are gathered together in a welcoming, friendly space that allows us to maintain our physical and emotional health. What could be better?
Everything!
I can use it at many Y locations
I like my group exercise class Instructors and my fellow members who take the classes with me.
Friendly staff, convenient location, great exercise epuipment.
Cleanliness
Knowledgeable class instructors
Welcoming environment
The reciprocity between branches.
The Child Watch and Brandy's Playground is fantastic.
Y is in my neighborhood and close to me.
It's a beautiful facility. There were a lot of cardio equipment, a track, great weight equipment. If I lived closer, I would go there exclusively!
good exercise classes
I like being able to come in on my own schedule to work out, and to be able to ask a quick question of the staff about a machine that I might want to try. I also like that it's not a "judgement zone" kind of place - no one cares if I'm not wearing the latest exercise-fashions. I can get on a treadmill wearing an everyday t-shirt and shorts and I don't get the "looks" of "there's someone who isn't serious about working out because she's not wearing trendy exercise clothing". (Obviously, I've experienced that elsewhere). There is a good variety of classes too.

The West Chester area Ymca is my second home. Me and my family are always there. The staff is always so helpful and welcoming greeting you by name. The Y is always super clean. The bathrooms are always spotless, and all of the equipment is in good/great condition. All of the classes I have taken here were amazing. The pool is very nice, I have taken my kids that I nanny here on a guest pass and they love it. I love this Ymca and highly recommend it to anyone looking to join!
The socialization, the professionalism of instructors, friendly staff, the clean environment, all make the Y a place I enjoy.
Last week I visited the West Chester (Airport Road) Y for the first time, as the Lionville location, where I routinely exercise, was closed for the week. Upon arrival, I was greeted at the WC Y with a measure of hospitality that was “above and beyond the call of duty” by Mrs. Pinky McGreevy. After introducing herself, She guided me through a quick tour and chatted with me for a few minutes, ensuring that I was comfortable and knew what I needed to know.
So back to the question, “What do you like about your membership?” In this instance, I especially like the fact that I had a place to exercise during the closure period for Lionville Y, a place that showed me passionate hospitality and made me feel welcome. I made a new friend, the fact that I had a great workout was simply the icing on the cake.
I like the variety of classes available, the well-trained staff and the fun and friendship of classmates. It makes it easy to stick with a fitness plan regardless of age or ability (or disability) as the case may be.
The pools and variety of classes.
Great classes at convenient times. I like the cycle classes as they are classic and not the new dance/extreme rides. Equipment is good and room is nice and quiet. You could have a better personal training area.

The kids and I thoroughly enjoyed visiting the WC YMCA during the enhancement week at UMLY. The childwatch area was super fun for them and I enjoyed using the treadmills and lounge area for some “me-time”... thank you!
I like the variety in the classes offered and how there is something for everyone in my family.
There was a plethora of machines and classes. The women’s bathrooms were very clean and nice. The facility was large, newly renovated and fully equipped.
It's a great facility- best Y I've ever been to. Very large with great facilities.
I would politely suggest not to build up the membership too much more, it would be unpleasant if significantly more crowded...
Good facility and great classes

Clean, cheerful facility
