Many types of options offered for exercise classes etc
Give the senior citizens a great place to go for a various reasons.
New management has really made a difference. Clean and if something needs fixing, it gets fixed. Special thanks to Tina, Lee and the aquatic director. Also my favorite instructor, Angela.
It’s affordable; front staff always has smiles and are friendly; I attend the aquatic classes and the instructors are really really good; plus I have made new friendships through these classes
Hours are very flexible
Provide excellent workout apparatus
They have an amazing amount of equipment from beginners to advanced. Also the huge benefit is the pool for lap swimming and the many aquatic classes available.
I met with a trainer who first started me on arm exercises one day then several days later did leg exercises. I have knee problems-no cartilage or anything to cushion my knee joint. I didn’t know I was not to do leg exercises that would involve my knees. (I walk with a walker to decrease the pain in my knees when walking). Later that night I was having extreme knee pain in left knee and went to NKCHOSPITAL ER. They eventually got my left knee X-Rayed and radiologist said I had no broken bones in my knee but also absolutely no cushioning in it. I was aware both my knees were bone on bone already. And I know I’m going to have to have knee surgery at some point. I guess my point is I should have known not to do leg extensions. And I would think the trainer should be educated to be careful with people who come in with knee pain, and walking with a walker. I did come in asking for orientation to arm and leg exercises on the machines. I’ll see my Orthopedic Dr tomorrow to see if it might be time for knee replacements. I’m not upset about this because I know I need knee surgery. I still love the Y and plan on swimming laps and taking classes in the water which the trainer also talked to me about and gave me a paper on all the classes. Thanks for reading this long review!!!
Lots of hours available. Front desk staff always welcoming
Clean, affordable exercise
Provides all the things I need for my health (walking, weights, exercise classes) especially during the wet and cold times. I am pre-diabetic so all these are crucial and needed year round. Plus it's a clean, safe environment and you always feel welcomed.

I don't get to come in very often and my experiences are primarily with the Kids Zone and Gym areas, but both my girls (4 yrs and 5 yrs) enjoy their time in childcare and the gym is always clean, the air seems fresh and cool, and the equipment usually appears to be in good working order.
The Y seems to be running a lot smoother since Tina was hired. When the new maintenance person Lea fixes something it stays fixed, which was not the case previously. There needs to be mats put down in the women's locker room.
