I enjoy the diversity, and I enjoy the friendly front desk reps.
Well I have to tell you I am really proud of myself because my Dr Boyce @ Meritas Health told me a year ago to get into Physical Therapy. I had just retired six months earlier. He said I needed to do this. So, I started at NKC Hosp and worked with Matt Murphy on the 2nd Floor and thus I began the "life changing affect on me". First, we found out I had to plan on a major knee surgery and it occurred June 20th, 2022. Matt had prepared me for the knee surgery by encouraging me to continue my exercising. Do not let up he said. I had my difficult surgery on June 20th and I was told I was going to have a tough surgery as Dr. Barnhill had to saw into the bone that was in the way. All the nurses both in surgery and in the recovery area were all aware. When I woke which was very soon, they told me I did so well. I asked them did my constant exercising help me get through this surgery better. They said it did. So once again I was back in Physical Therapy with Matt and about 25 other PT trainers at the NKC Hospital. From June 23 - August 11, 2022. I made it! I never dropped out. I never gave up and I continued working out daily at my house for floor mat exercises. I got set up with the Y in NKC I think March 2022. I am still exercising. Do my mat exercises and weights every day and do the "mile walk" and bicycle usually each day. I told Matt I felt all of this was "life changing" for me. I have an old friend (known since we were 8 years old,) in Texas. She is my age and has to sit. All the time. I have continually told her to get out and exercise and get your life back. This is what she needs. I am very proud of what I have done and know this will help me as I continue to age. Also, I have lost almost 20 pounds since a year ago. I did not go on a diet, as such. The weight came off because I have exercised so much. Thank you for reading all of this. Dot Lybarger
