Sometimes, I feel some physicians want to render
the surgeries that produce the most revenue.
I have been a patient at the JOI Beaches location and love it for its proximity to where I live. But no appointments were available before the holidays, so I grabbed an opening at the San Marco location. (BTW, the online scheduling is a great resource! Just enter your symptoms and they match you with best fit doctors and show you availability for each.) Initially I was concerned as parking is tough (walking from the garage with a gimp knee is not lovely) and the line just to check-in was so long. But I have to say, the line moved very quickly (i recommend doing all the paperwork online ahead of time - it's easy), the setup of the facility is very efficient, I was called back almost immediately, was triaged, had xrays, and saw the doctor (for a pretty good length of time) with very little waiting at all. And the staff? Everyone was kind and friendly - which given the volume of patients is probably not always easy! (People who are hurting can be cranky!) The Jax community is lucky to have such a top notch facility with great doctors and multiple locations!

The scheduler was pleasant and professional, as were the front desk staff. Despite the obviously busy office, check in/check out and wait times were very reasonable.
John Tierney PA was thorough and attentive to my concerns. He explained the exam, working diagnosis, and treatment plan. He allowed time for my questions.
I left feeling that we have a clear and reasonable plan in place.

The service was very good. The 30-minute wait to see Dr. Madden seemed reasonable, considering the number of patients in the waiting room before me. Dr. Madden was very professional and thoroughly explained the problem with my wrist issue and administered a cortisone shot to hopefully give me some relief from the pain.
They are very helpful and get things done.
