When I arrived at the home, Shawn was outside and he informed me that he was about to go on the roof. I shared with him that I would be in the backyard and he told me that he would come get when he was ready to do the interior home inspection. He never came out to get me so I went into the house and he was in the living room. The home inspector was condescending to me. For example, as he was examining the windows in the living room, I asked him what type of windows they were. He responded, "How I am supposed to know." I asked again but this time gave him more specifics, are they single or double pane windows? He answered that question but he was abrupt and acted like he was in a hurry to move on. I then asked are we going to the kitchen now? He said, "No, I already did that area?" I wanted to end the home inspection at that point but I let him continue to my dismay. I thought this home inspection was for me?? We went upstairs and quickly went through those rooms. Then the inspection was over. I did not see him inspect the dining room, laundry room, 1/2 bath near the laundry room or the garage area. My contractor arrived at 1:15 to give me an estimate on painting some of the walls. Shawn was practically finished by that time. He said, this was such a short inspection, that I am writing up your report now. I had to practically beg him to show me the fault he found with the hot water heater in the basement. Thank goodness my contractor came by as I was pretty upset with the poor performance of Shawn. He seemed to be super charged during the inspection. I have had several other home inspections and none were like this one. The other inspectors walked with me and explained in detail what they were seeing and how to work the water heater, etc. I was so disappointed.

The gauge for plumbing was incorrect per the plumber they had come out and the sellers were charged $200 for this, as well as the termite inspection not being completed within the time frame for inspections, so we lost out on that, as well.

Cal was friendly, thorough, and very knowledgeable about the inspection. All my questions were answered even before we met in person. He even had small take home gifts (pens and mints) for myself, mom, and relator after the inspection. I'm still waiting on my report but I'm sure it'll be as thorough as he was while conducting the inspection.
