Downeast's open attitude towards buying-groups is the reason that I work with them. They will always have my business for this aspect. (On top of great service and genial staff..) The Remote fuel monitoring system they have in place is top notch and takes out all of the guesswork keeping our tanks full.

We called to order during the recent winter weather. Our power was out and we running on our propane generator. The operator asked if we were on our propane generator and we said we were. She told us they would come as soon as they could but she wasn’t sure when. 2 hours later we had our delivery! Amazing!

Sometimes the most wonderful things can happen when you least expect it. I had turned my computer on earlier today and among some of the emails, I received one from Downeast Energy asking if I could give feedback regarding their services and products. First, let me expound on the fact that we have been with this company for many years. We never wanted to look elsewhere since we were always so satisfied with the integrity and loyalty of this company. Then recently, this was upended. One morning we thought we could smell gasoline, and my husband grew a little concerned. We thought it best to place a call and have someone come out to ascertain if this was indeed the problem. Much to my husband's chagrin, we happened to get a representative that did not do a stellar job representing the company. She simply would not let my husband speak and was speaking very loudly.........what I might define as borderline crude! This I could not let go just because it was a first. We had always dealt with the nicest people at Downeast. I called and expressed how I was upset with this representative's tone. The woman that answered said she would pass this on to a supervisor, and I could expect a call that very day.
And that is when my sheer disappointment set in! I never got this call! So today I reiterated this incident in my feedback. I knew in my heart this would go "nowhere" as many of these feedbacks do not. It is simply following policy and that is all.
Today I received a phone call from Rachel, a representative who works in the Kennebunk office. So gracious and so sincere. She apologized for the incident and went on to say that she was so sorry that had happened. During our discourse, she further added that Downeast was placing $100.00 toward my next monthly budget payments. This I thought was just so rare. This is the Downeast Energy Company that my husband and I have dealt with for so many years. A company that will follow up on a less than positive feedback has to care about all its customers. When I told my husband, he was so pleased! Downeast Energy is given an A+ because any company that chooses to follow up in this manner should be recognized as the very best.
And in Rachel, you have a wonderful team player; that is such a contribution. Thank you Downeast for who you are! Outstanding! Thank you for caring!
