I like that they provide a variety of fun educational activities for all ages. I along with teaching kids how to swim. I like the attention to detail that they provide for all genders keeping them safe while still allowing them to be a kid. Last year, they did favorite game board and art displays. It will be interesting to see what they do this year.
Lastly, I will say that they really work with families when it comes to the monthly cost to send your child to the YMCA summer camp. With the increases we see in our daily life's, it's shows that they really value the kids and keep costs available for our kids to attend camp.
The only negative thing I would say is, I wish they offered more field trips away from camp-add fun variety to summer. Favorites often include fire stations/police stations, recycling centers, museums, libraries, or zoos. I wish there were more girl sports like volleyball, badminton, track and field, basic dance or even basic martial arts.
My son is attending kindercamp at Poole family YMCA for the second summer and he absolutely loves it! The camp counselors know him by name and I can tell he feels safe and happy with them
My son comes home excited about what he did at camp and also comes home ready for a nap
My daughter likes the camps at Poole and prefers them over some others in the area. Cost is also very reasonable.
Leaders are actively involved with kids and not just sitting in a room babysitting the kids
The activities and camp culture is fun and adventurous. The kids make lasting friendships.
I love that they keep the kids busy all day with swimming, crafts, games, dancing and introduce new activities to kids.
Our kids love it. They get the true summer experience all the while making great friends, learning songs, and respect, responsibility and just great fellowship.
Camp Great Adventure is the BEST YMCA summer camp in the Triangle. My child has had a very challenging time adapting to summer camp in years past and we have tried other camps closer to our home. But this camp he is confident and comfortable and actually gets excited to go and see Matthew and the team! Thank you so much Camp Great Adventure ❤️
My children doesn't want to leave. They enjoy the activities and they like the camp counselors
The hours are accommodating and the counselor's are always friendly. I wish there were field trips for CILTS and the ability to do one more year of CILTS when they are 15, giving them additional experience if they want to be a counselor when they turn 16.
