The Chatham Park YMCA is well run with a great staff. There are only two issues I have repeatedly observed that I consider a problem that realistically the staff have no direct control over.
Issue 1. - Some members seem to be unaware or are aware and just don’t care that the gym equipment is for exercise and not for use as a cell phone booth, personal office for texting, reading emails or conducting their daily business. Some type of reminder needs to be made to inform these individuals that the YMCA is a gym and not a business communication center. Possibly the staff could make a polite/courteous statement to this effect upon member check-in or maybe put more signage throughout the gym area stating this as gym policy.
Issue 2. - Gym equipment needs to be wiped down/sanitized after each individual use. Staff accomplishes this when they can however members need some type of reminder that this action is not just a courtesy but a personal responsibility and health requirement. Possibly this type of reminder could be made at check-in.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff
I love the facility. Only suggestions are I would love a landmine attachment for a barbell to do landmine exercises and larger weight kettle bells.
I would like to see more pool time for openings and more gentle yoga classes. The staff are very helpful and respectful. The facility is kept very clean and I find it a very pleasant to use.
It's a very clean place that has lots of equipment. Plenty of space so people can spread out.

Beautiful, clean facility with caring knowledgeable instructors! I have enjoyed every day of my membership and found the staff and general atmosphere to be welcoming. We just moved here and I have made some friends at the Y.

I think the monthly $157 pricing is too high for families to join, especially with limited use. There should be a reduced plan that is $80 and you can use facility 8-10 times in month. The staff have been exceptional… almost worth the annual $2000 price tag .
