Friendly staff, variety of class offerings
I love the variety of classes and instructors. They are so wonderful. Shout out to Joan, Ellen, Gwyn, Beth, Andrea, Sarah. They all add so much to my daily life with their enthusiasm and energy.
Friendly front desk, good instructors, exercise class room has been decluttered which provides more room for participants.
The new equipment is nice. However we went from one dedicated bench press to sometimes none due to there ability to be converted to squat racks.(Thanks Kim Kardashian)Also with the heavy plates being placed in awkward areas bending over and twisting so you don't hit your back on the bar is very inconvenient. Weight trees like we had before placed forward dividing each bench would be more user friendly and safer. As someone who has had back injuries in the past, bending over, lifting and twisting is formula for injury.

I love the early morning cycle and HIT class with Chris & Gina. Their enthusiasm and dedication are remarkable.

I learned to swim at the Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA back in the 1970s. So when we returned to the area a few years ago, I was thrilled to find a home within walking distance. Now my whole family accesses the Y for classes, swim lessons, practicing volleyball/basketball/soccer skills, and strength training. The instructors are marvelous and encouraging, the staff are welcoming, and I have found real community - the kinds of friends who hold me accountable for my fitness goals! All of the above keep me coming to early morning cycle classes several days/week. And when my husband or I say we are headed to the Y on the weekend, our children aged 9, 12, and 14 rush to get dressed to join us. It’s our favorite destination for family-centered fitness.
I love the Kidszone--great personnel. if I needed any motivation to work out, I have one because my kids (1 and 3) are always excited to go with me to the gym so that they can play and have fun. I wish it were offered more days/hours, especially on Sunday because, as a single mom, I can't go to the gym without childcare (and Saturday mornings are out for me because the kids have their own classes/sports). Also, I dread parking because it's always full, and I've only managed to snag a dedicated parent space once.
The staff are friendly, the facilities are clean and well kept, there are a variety of areas were members can do different types of exercise, and there is a nice sense of community.
I especially like the water aerobics classes, Tai Chi and chair yoga. I have many friends who participate in the Y and appreciate the chance to visit before and after classes. I wish there was more parking!
The Y is great! Good variety of facilities and amenities, affordable, great camps and afterschool staff. Overall a really good experience.
Equipment, classes except it would be nice to have more classes midday or afternoon.

I like the welcome when. I sign in and the pool is so clean and comfortable when we swim and the sauna and the steam room is so comfortable too.
