The staff are all super friendly, engaging, helpful, even the custodian Kendrick. The new equipment is great except for the new upright exercise bikes which are fine UNLESS you're tall. I am 6'4", the sit cannot be raised to a proper position for the knee while pedaling. The seats on the old bikes raised up slightly higher, which for me was ideal.
I also like that the Chapel Hill YMCA works with the Blood Connection so I can dovetail blood donation with visits to the YMCA.
The one things I hate is not the fault of the YMCA. AT&T's wireless signal is already weak in that area where the Y is located and once you descend down to the weight room it often drops off completely which is maddening :(
Warm water pool.
Great staff.
I like that I can go at anytime and it’s never very crowded in the cardio area. I will fit in going to the gym between meetings (I work remotely) and the staff is always so kind. A nice dose of kindness and a quick run to the gym is always a better day for me!
I love the pool experience! The water exercise programs are my favorite. Meadowmont is a
wonderful place in the summer!
We are also starting to take advantage of other group activities like the HIIT dance class and yoga classes.
But you need to be aware of my and my husband's extreme disappointment in the new sign up program called Fisikal. We have yet been able to sign up for a class using our laptop. We do not have a smart phone or iphone and depend on the computer to register for classes. No one seems to be able to fix the problem or understand even why it won't work for us.We have been depending on Delaney at the front desk to sign us up. This is very distressing, especially since summer is coming and I want to attend the outdoor water exercise classes. Without being able to sign up, I'm afraid I'll be left out. Please figure this out soon!!!!
Friendly cust service, clean and spacious facilty. Love the new equipment.

not having to weight to use resistance machines,
clean facility
Good instructors. Just wish there were more classes to choose among. Pandemic rearranged the schedule and some of the new class times just don't work for me now.
Love the support of families with younger children. The Y is a true community asset.
I love the water aerobic classes and the community!
Friendly staff and the fact that I can sign up for individual classes without a commitment.
I do wonder whether the current facility can accommodate all the new development and members as more people live close by. Many classes already fill up quickly and I think overcrowding will become a big issue.
Our YMCA serves folks from all walks of life. There are programs for folks from young children to the mature group. Our YMCA strengthens our community by focusing on meeting community needs. I believe it is a force for good as it helps build and develop people to improve our community.
The YMCA is a welcoming place
The indoor bikes and cycling instructors are great!
It's a warm environment, thoughtful, considerate employees.
The Y is easy to use and has good classes. I can do what I want and nobody bothers me. The chair Yoga class is very good and the instructor is good.
