I mainly use the pool. The water temperature in the river is always good.
Love our YMCA. So lucky to be so close!!!
Water aerobics
I love the classes. Especially the Zumba and the Ripped classes. The instructors of these classes are excellent. I like that the classes are finally running longer than 45 minutes…45 mins was too short, particularly for regular attendees. I like the new stretching area on the second level. Extra space for stretching and floor work was very much needed. Prior to that there really wasn’t very much stretching area anywhere else in the facility. I very much like the small area with weights on the second floor. Wish there was another area like that with weights or that area was enlarged. Many women like myself use that area, preferring it to the weight room on the first floor. As a retiree, I would welcome additional classes during the weekday midday, such as Ripped. There’s only 1 Ripped on Fridays at 10:00am.
Swimming and lessons for kids and adults, the climbing wall, daycare, summer camps for kids. Wish there were opportunities for visiting missionaries to take their kids swimming for free, such as my daughter, her husband, and their six kids who work in a remote mission station without a doctor, restaurants, gyms, or theaters, and where they have to fly their food in, or get moose from the locals. Very sad last year when they were turned down.
well maintained facility, range of classes, friendly/helpful staff.
Staffing response with respect and timely quality, cleaning and schedule activities are good.
Good stuff: Friendly/courteous/professional staff; clean, safe facility; many exercise/physical activities to choose from; best lap pool in county. Not so good stuff: leaky shower heads in men's room; hard to socially distance during busy hours, some strength training machines/equipment recently removed from premises.
In addition to working out, I get to watch and listen to all the little children who enjoy the facility in so many different ways. I even like watching them skip in from the parking lots, or skip out and climb every single big rock surrounding the building.
Tai Chi class is excellent!
There is a. If variety of classes offered for all age groups. I am one of the instructors who teaches aqua dance and deep water aerobics. I too take water aerobics for my own fitness. The facility is beautifully maintained. I am blessed that it is close to where I live. It is an integral part of the community.
I’ve always loved the YMCA. As a child I learned how to swim and dance at the Y. As a college student, I got a job and learned how to work at the Y. As an adult, I always looked for a YMCA to join wherever I lived because it always felt like home to me and I felt safe and welcomed.
I love seeing people of all ages and diversity and the values the Y upholds. I appreciate the variety of ways to workout and learn healthy habits and all the activities too! -Kimberly Parker
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The facility is new and well equipped.
So clean. Friendly
Absolutely everything!
Staff friendly facility clean
The variety of classes offered. The friendliness of the staff. And the cleanliness of the gym.
Wide range of activities
It's kept very clean and the staff is nice and happy. There are so many choices in equipment and classes. I enjoy the diversity in ages that I see at the y as compared to other gyms.
Friendly clean
Everything, I can't think of one thing that I don't like about the YMCA.
Hazelwood YMCA is very clean the people the staff friendly and I’d love to go there and walk in the river. I have difficulty walking so the river walking and the water aerobics are wonderful for me. I was unable to exercise when they close the Y because of Covid I’m so happy that it’s open again And that the pool is always clean as well as the steam room and sauna and the pool is not does not have dirt or scum on it. I love it. I have a nine-year-old grandson and he loves to go to the Y and play basketball and all that activities he enjoys those he’s been going since he was about two years old and we took swim lessons. It was very warm and friendly towards us when we were doing the swim lessons, thank you so much for the Y.
people, equipment
Love, love, love!
We LOVE the Bible verse as we enter the doors of the Y. There is also a positive thought for the day. We are greeted with a friendly smile and welcome. The staff is very helpful and all seem to honestly want to help if we have questions. The facility is clean.
Friendly staff and great amenities.
It is a shame that you pay your yoga teacherss so poorly. Of course this results in an incredibly poor level of teaching. Fortunately for the YMCA, the yoga students don't know the difference.
I enjoy the variety of exercise classes and their scheduled times.
I like the water aerobics with Theresa. I also like the Pickleball, but currently it is scheduled at the same time as Theresa’s classes.
So much offered with all the different classes and activities. A great place with so much equipment and walking track. The swimming area is amazing with everything available...especially the lazy river. Very thankful for this wonderful facility in our community!

The people are very nice
