Great facility
I highly recommend the Hazelwood YMCA first because the convenience of parking. 2nd the security of the facility, 3rd the open atmosphere, 4th the cleanliness of the facility, 5th the friendly and knowledgeable staff , 6th the friendly hours of the activities I enjoy and 7th the availability of guided activities I can join on line thru the ymca 360 app.
Improve by not so loud-music that is in pool
EVERYTHING except the decent music on the gym floor. AND I find the new facility usg waiver that we have to sign distasteful. RE: Personal image use.
Values + lots of equipment + classes + pool. Acoustics in pool or volume of music, not sure which, make it almost always way too loud, to the point that it causes pain in my ears. Mostly people(lifeguards) are responsive when I ask them to turn it down, but it's very awkward to have to ask every time. And I have stopped coming as much and hardly ever swim now, so I don't have to go through that. I had an auditory injury, so I thought it was just me, but recently a friend said they don't swim at the Y because "the pool is so loud". So I', thinking other may be affected but not saying anything. Also the music often has been heavy metal, which is a bit nerve-wracking. Thanks for listening.
Please get more hip thrust machines, always in use everytime
The opening for coming @ my most convivence time. I'd like Zumba class with Angela, on the gym (she has the gym on Mondays, I'd like the gym for her on Wed too).
Everything- pool, sauna, classes, gym. Improve with food!

Everyone is pleasant and friendly. Jeanie? who keeps the ladies dressing room clean is always pleasant.

Almost all of it. The equipment leaves things to be desired. There used to be a big analog time clock at the pool. Then you took it away. The scales and swimsuit dryer thing are often broken.

I love the pool! The Lazy River is great for reproducing a hard workout without the stress of the weight machines. Give arthritic joints, I need to maintain muscle strength without hurting joints so walking, doing lunges, leg exercises against the current are great at keep muscle mass. I do other upper body exercises in the middle exercise area, as well as more lunges and "Monster" walk for my hips. I also use the deep end for deeper water exercises and the stairs into the deep end for stretches.
I also love the gym, so many different machines, I hardly ever have to wait for one. I use the low impact recumbent cycle for a warm up, and then use a number of machines for my legs, core and upper body. Often if I come at a busy time there are not enough bikes available, so more would be great. I like the track for walking but currently that hurts the hip too much.
The staff is wonderful!! Always helpful, kind and patient. If you want to feel good about humanity, coming to the Y can give you a great feeling and even hope in our crazy times.
