We like all the aquatics offerings and Y camp
The Y has been a place where our community has become stronger. We are more united to help each other do better and be better for ourselves and for others.
The Hazelwood Y has opened the chapel. We have prayer request. We have a Bible Study and people are coming to a place where they wanna learn more about the Lord and they feel safe. That’s the word I wanna say over and over again people feel safe at Hazelwood Ymca.

YA YA DING DONG
I love the variety of classes. My favorite have been the dance classes; Zumba and Commit. The instructors are great.
I have been going to Angela's class and it is very popular. This evening was exceptionally hot in the room. Both fans were running and there was a box fan to help with air flow.
I was surprised to see the box fan was brought in by a member? Is it possible to have extra fans brought in to these classes? I saw a few members leave the class early due to the heat generated in the room.
Angela also announced the class normally held in the main gym is moving in the small room too. The main gym helps create room for people to move and see Angela provide instruction easily on elevated "stage". It also helps generate more members to "try the class" when it's the main gym. Please reconsider the location change and provide fans :)
Respectfully - happy member due to these classes!
Would like to see more bible studies and more HIIT classes in late afternoon. All the staff seem awesome
would like to see a weight loss challenge in summer
Would like to see
-consistant dance instructors
-more homeschool classes. We pass this Y to drive to Bremerton for their M-Th programs.
Shout out to coach Andrea! of the hammerheads.
*Im not quite sure the pool deck emergency procedures are working. Weve been here multiple times in the past few months during situations causing evacuation and it seems pushing everyone in to the locker rooms causes more chaos and confusion than needed. Have also witnessed staff not staying "calm and collected" during said times. Not sure if it's Ymca procedure or just Haselwood but...
Would like to see STEM homeschool class, homeschool classes pool swim color bands needs a better on boarding process. Also- clearing the entire pool facility for one person in need of attention is rediculous, the area- totally understandable. Your lightning proceedure seems over the top with instructions to not shower, for fear of electrocution-no way.Why have slides at the pool if they aren't available? Why can't kids use kick boards/community toys? Why are the rules different here than at the other YMCA's? We mainly come here for the pool- we love the 45min swim lessons for homeschool classes. Thank you for more rock climbing opportunities.
Would like to see more for adults with disabilities
Would love to see Tai Chi classes! All the staff are very helpful
Not the exercising! The facility, however, is clean, spacious, friendly, and well-equipped. There are plenty of classes, trainers, and educational opportunities for everyone.
I took advantage of the "Kick Start" program and found it to be so valuable. With a plan set up for me, I take advantage of the Y 3 to 4 days a week. I have shared this with some of my friends and hope that they start using the Y facilities, as well. This is such a great facilitiy to have in our community and feel lucky it is available to us all.
The gentle yoga and combo classes are great. It’s very hard to find parking some days though, and if I’m not standing outside the classroom door for gentle yoga about 15 mins prior to start, it fills so fast you almost can’t find a spot to set up.
Suggest using a bigger space or offering more frequency of classes for the smaller classes. Thank you!
There is a sense of community in the membership. I can start up a conversation with someone in the pool or on the pickleball court!
I also like the active older adults program on M/W/F.
A real strength of the YMCA is the fact that you can join any class and try it.
Very polite and friendly people. Just lost my wife of 41 years and needed somewhere to feel welcome. They say hello when I arrive and tell me to have a good day when I leave. They notice me and that makes me feel good. I recommend this establishment to anyone and everyone. Sincerely, Leon Leslie

Friendly staff, happy to welcome me in!
I really appreciate the scripture verses written on the white board in the entrance.
I like that the Y serves all ages.
The personal coach I had for the kick start program was FANTASTIC - very knowledgeable, kind, explained things clearly, and took into account my opinion.
High active energy with many activities to choose from. A strong sense of community. A safe place to interact.
A membership for swim/pool only

I am so grateful for your variety of yoga classes. The instructors are kind, knowledgeable, and provide a wonderful start to each day! There is a community of yogi’s who attend and we all have the best energy within the classes. The classes add to our physical and mental health, thank you!
The Y is consistently clean, flowing air throughout all seasons and a variety of classes and assistance from the Y staff!
