Member Testimonials
Great facility, classes, experienced, fun instructors. Friendly atmosphere.
Nice facility!
I enjoy getting to know members of my community while working out in classes together. The instructors are knowledgeable, welcoming and a lot of fun. The facility has something for everyone on every level of their fitness journey.
It is clean and everyone working there seems very friendly
Friendly, helpful staff, many options for working out, machines, classes, pool, trainers.
I enjoy coming to this YMCA, because of its evening yoga classes.
This is a clean welcoming place for our community.
They host so many classes its amazing. I just wish I had the time to do them all.
Keep up the good work and know you are appreciated
Everyone is so kind when I come in to work out. The machines are clean and there's tons of information available about classes and community events.

I like the updated equipment and the fitness classes like ringside boxing with Malo and Heidi
Facility is well maintained, and staff is responsive to fix machines that are not working. Staff is friendly and encouraging.
Always clean. Friendly employees. Lots of scheduled activities to choose from all day long. Great pool for lap swimming, water aerobics, and family fun with good size adjoining hot tub, steam room and sauna. Exercise equipment and an indoor track are always available for use.
Please ask Veronica not to wear her political hats in the pool during Theresa’s aerobic exercise class. She alternates with Make America Great Again and Trump.
She talks very loudly at times politics. It’s just not the appropriate place and I have heard others complain. Someone I was encouraging to join with her family visited and asked me about the above situation. I said freedom of speech but I agree there should be places where people can just enjoy activities without politics.
Friendly staff and not crowded early in the morning. I would like the gym cardio classes to be earlier in the morning. I won't wait around for a 10:00 class.
I like the variety of classes that are available for people of all ages however I would like to see more classes geared for seniors. I like the staff they’re very nice and welcoming.
It’s clean quiet and friendly staff
Great people. Always improving.
I like the hours.
Staff is friendly and consistent.
I don't like the slimy showers in the family changing room or the broken hook room 5(?) I have mentioned it to the front desk.
The shower soup bars shelf in the pool area, by the lap lanes, are a disgrace and need a good scrubbing. I ave pointed it out to several staff. Looks like someone put a sponge over it and wiped it down, but didn't clean it. I thought after the pool was closed for a week I hoped that all of the pool area would get a deep clean . . . it's time.
Equipment is top of the line. Great classes available with membership. Membership is kind of expensive and it seems like it gets more expensive every year.
Friendly faces and convenient schedules for staying in shape in my retirement.
Friendly front staff - we are always welcomed with a smile and a verbal welcome … same when we leave. It makes us feel that we are not just a member/number.
The equipment is well maintained and the facility is clean. There are always staff available for questions

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the non-friendly ones usually don't stick around.
I love the remodel and how clean it is. Your employee Stanley is absolutely phenomenal about keeping it clean with his thoroughness. Keeping the Y clean might seem like nothing but some Y's I've been to (Puyallup) are really dusty in the corners.
The pool is generally open and is great for lap swimming. However, sometimes during swim lesson time there's not enough lap swim lanes.
The weight room is fairly open and inviting. I love all the natural light and windows.
The operating hours are much better than they once were. I especially like that you're open late on Fridays too.
One thing I would like improved is to have more "Cell Phone Use Prohibited" signs posted in the men's locker room. The only sign I see are by the entrance and bathroom stalls, but not in the actual changing areas. I regularly have to dress quickly because somebody is on their phone while I'm trying to change. I have had to tell some people to get off their phone or to go to the changing booths, but I'd definitely prefer staff correct members.
The same goes for parents of young children who insist on using the 15-and-over men's locker room section instead of the boys' or family locker areas.
All in all, I'm pretty happy with my experiences at the Silverdale Y. It's just these couple of things that need fine tuning.
Keep up the great work!
