I love this Y - clean, new equipment, plenty of lockers - absolutely fantastic.
The gym is clean, I often see staff cleaning stair rails, touch surfaces, the bathrooms are always clean.
I’m impressed by what the facility has to offer. I’m a senior with specific physical limitations and am pleased to see that there are many classes that are appropriate for keeping me fit without compromising my physical limitations. Your staff are welcoming and supportive. The facility is well maintained. I’m happy to have become a part of the experience.

I would give a 10 of 10 because I am generally impressed by this facility. When I first signed up I was impressed by the cleanliness of the facility overall. The locker room appeared to be cleaned regularly. The Treadmills and other equipment looked clean and I even saw one team member on his hands and knees wiping down equipment more than once.
But in the last several months, I have noticed that the men's locker room is getting less and less attention. I note specific debris on the floor sometimes for more than a week. Lately the treadmills are getting dustier and dustier. Not sure who the cleaning crew is, but they have not been up to standards lately.
Also, I haven't seen tissues in the locker room dispenser for more than a few months now.

I joined primarily to play pickleball. There are numerous gym times at Haselwood YMCA dedicated for pickleball, which I really appreciate, and I've met lots of new friends playing there.
The instructors seem very well trained
Staff are uniformly helpful, friendly, and maintain the facility at an outstanding level.

Classes for seniors
I like the wide range of things that I can participate and exercise with/on and the cherry attitude of the staff. In moving from the exercises I was doing at the facility on Bainbridge Island, I found that almost everything I was doing there can be done at the YMCA as well as many more things. It will take a while to branch out as I decided to start doing the same types of things I did there, such as resistance machines and exercise riding machines. I will in the future look for classes that I think may be of interest. In addition, the facility is well maintained.
The access to the swimming pool is very easy to get into and out of, whereas the other Y's in my area requires ladders to exit, which I'm unable to do.
Early morning hours for exercise. Not crowded.
Friendly staff for the most part. Clean- janitorial staff do a great job!
The classes are very good, especially the RIPPED and the ZUMBA classes. The RIPPED instructors, especially Heidi and Genean, are excellent. The Zumba instructor, Angela, is absolutely fabulous - she really puts a lot of work into preparing and leading the class, which is greatly appreciated. And, it's so FUN. Her classes are very well-attended. The Y should do everything it can to keep her, she is so good.
I appreciate it when the women's restrooms are clean. Sometimes they are not and the bathroom, specifically in the 2nd floor, smell of urine. I can imagine what the men's bathroom smells like.
What I don't like is, the communication could improve greatly. For example, improve communication of schedules for gym hours, holidays and shortened hours, class schedules and schedule/instructor changes, programming changes and changes affecting class schedules and locations.
Clean, good assistance when needed, appropriate hours of operation, and a clean and nice hot pool!
The hot tub is the right size and temp and the cooling of the pool adds to being beneficial to my body.The work out machines are perfect. Let's not forget how clean the whole building is. One great place there. While in my youth we had bigger pools, I still enjoy the benefits of Using Haselwood Family YMCA.
