Very good free weights and machines
Variety of classes available; pickleball sessions; friendly staff and members.
I love the way it feels very welcoming and supportive of everyone trying to better themselves. Lots of kindness and always a happy positive place! It’s contagious and I’m always mindful to say hello and have a good day or night to someone.
Clean, lots of equipment that is in working condition. Usually not to crowded.
Currently I’m using a personal trainer. I’m very happy with the results. The water aerobic class I attend is a fun work out. I use the track for walking and warm up.
With such a variety of events and classes, it's amazing how effortless the staff makes it all appear! The staff are truly the ones who make each visitor's experience so exceptional. Add in the cleanliness of the facility, the upkeep and accessibility, and it's just the perfect mix for individuals and families to enjoy this center.

Classes and Instructors
During limited open swim, only lane 4 was open. Lane 1 was being used for swim lessons. Lane 1 is the only lane with stairs for people that are disabled and cannot get in and out of the pool from the side. I would like to see lane 1 open for people that need the stairs, and want to use the deep water side during this time.
Shout out to Bella w/ the preschool summer program: I observed her kind, patient, and encouraging lead a group of toddlers/preschoolers in the bathroom. She constantly verbalizing so the young children could understand what's going on. She thanked individuals with her expressive voice, "thank you for being really patient, " etc. The group was very organized and quiet in the public place. Great job!
I can see that the Y provided adequate trainings and ongoing support for Bella's excellent leading performance prior to the job. Congratulations on great programs and quality of staff!
Please keep the Senior Fit class at 8 instead of moving it back to 10.
Shoutout to Sam, John, Brianna, and Vanessa all are great!
Would like to see Senior Fit; Continue offering class at 8 in lieu of changing it back to 10am
Would love to see a balance class.
Shoutout to Elaine in Silver and Fit
Would love to see Tai Chi.
Shout out to Lucretia w/ complete conditioning is consistently amazing
I have only been a member for a week and I have experienced top notch service from ALL of the YMCA personnel. I just wish there was a reduced membership fee if I only want to use the pool.
There is always lots to do and watch. I never get bored doing my routine. And I love the Zumba classes. My husband loves the pool.
Great instructors, welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable.
Variety of classes.
good environment, helpful staff
I like it there, if only it had night hours!
Friendly staff.neat and clean
I like the facility, staff, and equipment very much. I like having different classes at popular times.
I like the family atmosphere -Jake
So many activities to choose from.
The fitness opportunities and the community
Outstanding. While lately it’s a bit more crowded than usual, I can easily find times to get my workout done, whether it’s in the pool or the weight room machine room upstairs.
The swimming pool has easy access.
I really love how clean the entire facility is. How welcoming all the staff is, and how available the gym and equipment is! I always feel like there's availability in the classes or activities and the pool isn't too crowded.
My major issue isn't so much with the facility, but some of the folks that use the free weight equipment, I feel are using inappropriately. Such as: using a free weight bench for Split Squats, or other kinds of leg workouts. When there are step-up boxes or stools available that will achieve the same thing. So I would like to see some mild enforcement of using equipment appropriately please.
I have had to wait for a bench in front of the dumbbell rack for someone to do squats on a bench that I want to lay down on, and am unable to "work into" their sets because they're stepping on where I plan on laying down.
If any progress would be made in this, I'd give Hasslewood YMCA a 11/10 if I could!

I like to walk in the lazy river in the pool. I enjoy the aqua zumba and aqua dance classes. I would enjoy them more if there were not dads and kids doing cannonballs and throwing kids into the pool very close to the ropes, creating huge splashes that travel several feet into the class participants. This has happened the last two times I attended. And I was not the only class member to be annoyed by the huge splashes. I would love it if the open swimmers could keep their diving in to the far end of the pool.
