The great instructors and the friendliness of the staff! The facility is clean and welcoming
Everyone is so upbeat and friendly, both staff and members. It is worth setting up a routine to come regularly and reap the benefits of both the exercises and building strong friendships!
I am very impressed with the staff. The facilities are well-maintained and just today I asked to speak to someone about which classes might be best for me. Everyone was wonderful!
The willingness of staff and management to work as a team with a goal. Disagreement no doubt exists, but both sides have the benefit of Y members as a core responsibility.
That is impressive wherever ir occurs, and should be honored.
The classes
I can't think of anything to dislike.
Employees are friendly. Facilities are clean and sterile. Parking is easy. Equipment is clean and modern. There are good choices of various exercise classes. I would like to see a basic Tai Chi class for seniors. To sum it up the Lakewood Y is excellent. Happy to be a member and I use it 3 times a week for swimming.
I like the classes - I hope they are keeping me as strong as a 74YO can possibly get and extend my healthy run and help me avoid injury. Old people rule!
Nice people! Lots of activities. Fantastic pool
Friendly service and the location.
I am a long-time member of the Y. I first joined about 40 years ago. Now that I am much older, I use the facility for different reasons. I and my wife are both 88 years old, so we use it as a health and longevity tool. Everyone in Lakewood is so friendly, the staff is knowledgeable. I always brag on the Lakewood Y and tell my friends to join. I love the Lakewood Y.

This is a warm welcoming place to come, and get a great workout. Lots of classes, and facilities.
Parking is way better than the Morgan Family. The lighting early in the morning isn't as harsh. There are not TVs in front of every cardio machine.
That my son is always in a healthy environment.
I grew up in a very hot part of the US. You walked out the door & started to sweat. Why would I intentionally do something that would make me sweat even more?! Playing on the girls’ ball team at the neighborhood park was simply painful. I was put out in right field to catch the rare balls that went in that direction. When one did, I had to look up at the blazing sun, only to close my painfully squinting eyes as that ball shot toward me. Of course I rarely caught a ball & was barely tolerated by teammates. I much preferred to sit in the shade of the pecan tree reading a book. BUT last year I joined Yvonne & Ginger’s M/W/F morning Silver Somethings class & have had a true epiphany. For the first time in my life, I am enjoying exercise & doing it with people who have become my friends. I am stronger, have more muscle & flexibility even if I haven’t lost any weight, and am actually having fun. I truly miss it when I have to be absent.
Friendly atmosphere. Plenty of machines. Good exercise classes
Clean, friendly, and all the equipment is kept up.

Finally, there is always something going on. Whether it be book clubs, fitness activities , or workshops.
I just wish there were more hours in the day to partake in all of the fun!
Everyone is so welcomed. Safe place to meet people and make friends.

My disabled daughter enjoys the smaller pool for walking.
