I cannot say enough positive things about The YMCA on Market St. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were welcomed with friendly smiles and warm greetings that immediately made us feel valued and appreciated as members. It quickly became clear that this was a community we wanted to be part of.
The level of care and respect shown to members is evident in the attention to detail throughout the facility—from the thoughtfully stocked bathrooms to the well-maintained workout stations. We especially appreciate how clean the entire facility is and the availability of sanitation wipes at every station, making it easy for members to maintain a comfortable and hygienic environment. It became very clear this was a gym that had great respect for its members
The wide variety of services, fitness classes, workout options, and sports programs far exceeds what we have experienced at any other gym we have visited. Many things, the 9:30 AM spin classes at Tacoma Center is perfect time for many of us. The cleanliness at Tacoma Center, there is always someone cleaning, Linda at TC does such excellent work keeping things clean. The front desk is always welcoming.

The pool was available for laps and uncrowded at 8 am on Saturday. Staff were helpful and polite.

I have been a member since 85. Im 71 now. I've always enjoyed the group exercise classes over the years. I currently take the noon boot camp. The staff and fellow participants help me continue my routine. It believe it's the fountain of youth.
I don’t go to this one anymore I go to the UWT one but I have no issues with the center Y. I like that there are no kids.
First the staff. Always friendly and helpful makes life, interesting, easier, and worth a trip to the Y. Then the state of the building it’s always very tidy and clean and the other members/users are courteous and occasionally friendly.
Everything is clean there’s no bent bars. People are respectful. Wide variety of equipment and weights. It’s the best place.

The Tacoma center is clean and well run by the staff I been a member for a while down town Lakewood even preal st most. Down town staff is young but respectful I wouldn't have it any other way thank you for asking me now I am asking you to reward the staff free lunch or maybe a great job thank you see you there Down town YMCA God bless us all 🙏💪

Tacoma Center is where I joined the YMCA in 1983. I now attend at the Tom Taylor YMCA in Gig Harbor along with my wife Jane Treleven
People. That's what I love about the YMCA. Sure, great classes and equipment are dope, but the people make the place.

Friendliness with the staff. Very clean facility. Great instructors, like at the Tacoma, WA facility Amanda Halvorson is amazing!!! She is fun and she explains the exercises, knows everyone by name and she has a great spirit to her!!
I also enjoy the aqua fit classes. They have an amazing size pool and the hot tub is also great!
I’m glad I have the opportunity to join such a family oriented club!

Great lap pool, very nice steam room next to pool with windows so you can watch for open lanes. Staff always friendly. Locker rooms kept clean. Self-locking storage with self-entered codes for wallets, phones, car keys.
I want to give a shoutout to the housekeeping staff. The pool, jacuzzi, and sauna are well maintained and super clean. It doesn't seem to matter which day of the week or which hours of the day I use the facility, the women's shower and dressing rooms are immaculate!
I am a senior citizen (very senior!) who is grateful for access to a facility which is so well cared for by a professional, thoughtful, and pleasant staff...... it makes me feel that I am cared for.
