It is a great place, always clean, safe.
A good variety of classes, and the instructors are the best.
I’d love the Y to consider the “High Fitness class” that was taught in the summer. It was the best workout.
Also would like the Y to consider washing the floors in MP1 and MP2. They’re really pretty dirty.
Helpful staff, spotless facility
Proximity to home, hours of operation, cleanliness, continuous updating of facility, friendliness of staff, plenty of parking, affordability for all income levels, community outreach
Friendly, easy schedule and good coffee chats
I like many elements of the YMCA; I like that I can go pretty much any time of day, friendly people, mostly clean areas, plenty of gear, classes, community outreach. But what I like to see most is people of all ages, young and old, intermingling in the same space and sharing smiles. ;)
Nice place
ALL staff are friendly and helpful. Love water aerobics classes and look forward to trying out a silver fit class soon.
Very clean, nice people, very positive atmosphere. I like the walking trac very well kept.
The machines are well maintained. And more than one machine to use.

Everything but the kids basketball
Incredible staff, clean facilities, plenty of parking, and a group exercise class schedule that meets my needs.
Super great staff great people skills always there to help you and any and everything. The facility is always kept nice and clean well organized. Lots of events and opportunities for families to partake in. The great place to go and hang out!
Very nice people work there. Class members are very friendly and helpful.
I truly love my instructors and water aerobics. I love the facility and it’s clean. The only thing I don’t like is all the mishaps of the poop situation with children. It’s crazy how often it happens here, but other than that, I love the facility.
Has a lot of equipment. Even when it’s busy there is not an issue. Tons of free weight space
I primarily come to the Y for the classes. As a retired elderly person I find the social aspect of the classes uplifting. Of course I also come to exercise and keep fit!
The Instructor's are top notch. I can’t give enough praise for Kim, Leah, Kacie, Nichole, Lucy and Sherry. The other instructors are good I’m sure but the classes I regularly attend are led by these women because I get such good results with their instruction. They are also dependable! They are positive minded and kind and welcoming to everyone.
I like the length of the classes.
The variety of classes is very good as well. I take Muscle Up, Dance Fit High, Pilates, Vinyasa, Gentle Yoga and Barre. I would like to try Tai Chi, but it’s a little too late in the morning for me.
Thank you for providing this space.
Gordon Family YMCA is a safe and friendly place to workout and walk the track.

I've been a member for about 8 years. For me, the YMCA is a must to make it through the long winter months. I go from 2 nights a week to 5+ as it's a great outlet after a day sitting at my desk. I've been a member of many gyms over the years and the Gordon Family YMCA stands out because of it's size and the many things a member can do to workout. I never get bored as I can always switch up my workout.
This being said, I have very real concerns about it's future in regards to equipment availability and gym crowding. Sumner has exploded with several new apartments and I see a large series of apartment complexes is being built right next door. I fear membership incentive programs and increased gym populations will reduce the things I hold most dear about the facility.
