Member Testimonials
It 's a great place with something for everyone's abilities - classes, workout equpiment, a walking track - all year long. thank you
The YMCA has been an invaluable place for our son to get exercise, socialize with kids his own age, learn sportsmanship, as well as the importance of being active and healthy. We absolutely love the Y, the instructors are so well trained to handle kids. They have always been very kind, understanding, and accommodating.
The swim instructors are so great with the kids, they are patient, fun, and effective. We would absolutely recommend swimming instruction at the YMCA. We want to recognize one instructor in particular, Ellie (sp?). She is a natural when it comes to talking to kids and grabbing their attention to have them listen and learn. She is one of our son's favorite instructors at the Y!
The staff are nice and respectful. Machine setup. Easy access to a variety of machines. Do wish there was an additional adult basketball court. Seems to be full and many people cannot play. Another court would allow another game, or single shooters to play. Thanks for all you do.
The YMCA has many opportunities to pursue whatever a person feels they maybe needing to bring joy and fun into their life. The staff at Tom Taylor are caring, go out of their way to be helpful, respectful and encouraging.
I not only enjoy the exercise classes but I find making friendships with members and the staff very important in my well-being. I would explain to anyone that they can feel welcomed and safe at Tom Taylor but it is up to the individual to make the effort in participating in all the opportunities available.
I can work out at my own pace with lots of available equipment and no judgement. Everyone (including staff) leaves me alone in peace, just how I like it. No pressure to do any socializing or group activities.
It's simply a great place to work out , in just about any activity you wish. From swimming to wall climbing, it's done here.
I am a swimmer and utilize the lap pool 5 days a week . Your opening and morning staff are friendly and so welcoming in the morning . Pool staff is great - miss Abby !
I feel safe at the Y and appreciate everyones effort to make my experience at the Y a happy and healthy one !!

Clean. Family atmosphere
It is very modern. There is every kind of fitness equipment. There is a great variety of fitness classes for all levels. The aquatics facilities and programs are very good. The staff are friendly, helpful and available.
Friendly atmosphere, clean
Everyone is so friendly and helpful.
I also appreciate the facility being pretty clean especially since so many people are milling in and out all the time.
Big, airy, clean facility with lots of options for healthy exercise and making new friends.
everything
The weight lifting equipment options available. I have everything I need but for a couple more "fly" machines. There is now only one (there were two during Covid) and great demand for that machine.
You did not ask what I do not like but I wish to share that I would prefer if cell phones were prohibited in all weight lifting areas. Way too many YMCA users sit on an apparatus I want to use and stare at their cell phones. For someone like me who likes to do super sets, it is bothersome to have to ask someone to move and, in most cases, they can't hear my request because of the ear buds they use. Most important, constant use of cell phones and connection to social media is contrary to YMCA values related to personal health and fitness. Research is showing that constant connection to social media and the WWW is detrimental to mental health. The constant attention to email and texting is addictive and diminishes people's pleasure/pain centers. Every look at the phone triggers a dopamine hit to the point that that health stimulus is wearing out.
Great Place, lots of different and various activities. They should have something for everyone.
Great staff! Nice facility and lots of worthwhile programs for all ages.
I like the location (close to my home). I like the size, not too big. Love the classes and instructors. Most of my friends go to the Y.
Friendly staff clean facilities and so much more!
Lots of exercise space, types of equipment, cleanliness, friendly staff, hours of operation.
I LOVE-LOVE- LOVE my water aerobics class. Marty is absolutely an amazing instructor.
Family friendly atmosphere, clean facility, open to all
I love the "family" I have found in my M,W,F bootcamp/Edge class. Such a supportive and inspiring group of people. I also appreciate the steam room/sauna to complete my wind down before showering and starting my day. I would love to have options for a lowered guest pass to allow for more sampling, or bringing a friend along to class when visiting.

Love the Muscle Up class with Theresa and TRX with Mona. Although it is often very crowded. Would be nice to have additional classes in different time slots.
It’s great having and indoor track too!
I try to go to classes and sauna six days a week.
Our grandchildren love the pool and the indoor playroom with the jungle gym thing and gymnastic mats.
Would love to see more space and time for Pickleball. I gave up on playing at the Y because we could only play one game in 40 minutes.
Absolutely love the look of the Y. Architecture is awesome. It is a beautiful building, well kept and the staff is so helpful, cheerful and friendly.
