You're always greeted warmly, space is always clean!
Classes are fun.
You walk in and it’s a very family friendly environment Also, seeing Therapy dogs when I walk in warms my heart. We have a Service Dog so I know what an important role they play for families. My son is 21 and has special needs. He is very social and I’m hoping that soon he can work for the Y here in Gig Harbor. Thank you.
The front desk staff is amazing! They are always upbeat, friendly, encouraging and more than just welcoming. They make us feel so special and important. I can't say enough about them.
Nice facility. too small of a hot tub. there should be another hot tub by the NW corner of the lap pool away from the loud children. there is hardly any time for a working adult to swim during the week. you have too many blockout of time for the swim team. each high school has a pool. stop giving away the members' time.
Great new upgrades and organization.
The volunteers and employees are very nice and helpful. Lots of opportunities to be involved in. Good hours. Feel very comfortable.
Swimming and lifting weights
Hi. I am a guest of my parents today. Ray and Laurence Welch. They are huge fans of the Y and love this place dearly. Whenever we visit with my kids we spend tons of time here.
I was a lifeguard for many years and wanted to share an observation at the pool. In my opinion blaring the music is a mistake and candidly- dangerous.
The music today, August 30, was a such a high level it was difficult to hear someone speaking next to you. We asked lifeguard to turn it down, which he did, and explained it was to keep the lifeguards “awake”.
1. It is imperative that anyone needing help be heard. You i l’y get one chance to potentially hear someone asking for help.
2. If the lifeguards are so tired that only music keeps them awake, then processes need to be put in place to allow them to take more breaks, etc.
I could go in but likely you understand
Regards
Ian Welch

I love the walking track - the Monday morning dogs - the mix of all ages of people - the music - the active environment - LOVE THE Y.
friendly and clean
I’m unbelievably thankful for the experience we have had. My 3 year old son recently had to have a trach and gtube placed and needs nursing support that volunteers would not be able to provide without training. When we approached the Tom Taylor YMCA about allowing his nurse come with him into Child Watch they were mindful of their policy and my son’s well being. We were able to get his nurse qualified as a volunteer and now she can care for him while he plays. This allows our family to join the YMCA again. My other two kids are thrilled to be back and I can get 1-2 hours to workout and know my kids are safe.
I’d love to give a huge shoutout to the leadership and child watch teams for their caring support and understanding. Their creative solution means the world to us.
Clean locker rooms. Nice open space in the foyer feels welcoming.
