Friendly staff.
I would like to see the lap pool open to more lap swimming.
An excellant facility and staff!!
My water aerobics experience started in 1997when I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and joining the old, downtown YMCA in Olympia, then Pearl, until Tom Taylor opened. With rheumatoid arthritis an operated back, two replaced arm/shoulder joints and a messed up knee I’m sure it’s this workout that has kept me walking!
The people in my group are my friends! The instructor, Marty, is great and I make it a point to get to know and remember the names of all lifeguards. They help me in and out of the pool and bar none are kind, respectful. The Y is my social place!!!
Very clean! Abundance of equipment - beautiful warm pool- love the pool - and friendly staff
Always a smile
Wonderful staff. Healthy atmosphere.
Friendly
Everyone is very polite, kind and helpful.
Variety of activities - friendly welcoming environment. Lively atmosphere. Good facilities
Kids programs, equipment offered on the floor, events put on and the pool!
The people who work there are all so friendly, warm, and welcoming! I am always greeted when I come in to the building, and everyone is very helpful. The training program for new members is great, it was so nice to be taken around and taught how to use all the exercise machines and a fitness plan set up. The facility is always clean and tidy. Thank you for such a wonderful YMCA in our community!
The Y is a wonderful facility for everyone. An activity for any age group. The staff is outstanding; positive, caring, knowledgeable. And a special thanks to the nursery. The toddlers are always so happy. Great work everyone!
Not fond of new equipment - small fonts, no ESPN station on live TV.
Friendly staff
I always enjoy my visits to the Tom Taylor YMCA. I swim laps there. The pool is clean. I feel confident in the lifeguards. The locker room is clean. The staff is friendly.
Beautiful facility! Equipment is new. Its clean and I love the sauna!
Ver disappointed in new equipment- no plug ins for headphones that fit. us old folks don't necessarily love new stuff.
I take Barre class on Wednesday 9:45am, I would like it to slow down a bit and stretch longer. By the time I'm in position, she's halfway through.
A big shout out to Bryan who is doing maintenance work on the rowing machines today! 11/11/25 Thank you!
Nice clear screens on new bikes on 2nd level. Good cup holders. Lots of apparent choices to choose viewing.
Community!
I assume that the instructors and/or a member group were involved in the purchase of the new cardio equipment. If not, shame on the YMCA!!
The five members that I spoke with were all disappointed in the new equipment.
Specific Issues:
1(Neither the recumbent bike or elliptical trainers fit people I spoke with. The ergonomics are bad. 2) The fitness information (like heartrate) are not as accessible. 3) The recumbent bikes are miserably uncomfortable.
Friendly staff

The inter-generational mix of the membership. Interacting with those of other generations is not only fun but intellectually challenging. It reminds us all that not everyone is alike. They don't look alike, act alike, or communicate alike. All of this is good, as are the myraid other things that make us different and yet the same. The Y represents a place where that difference can be expressed and shared in cross generational enviroment.
