Our Y is like a second home. I have loved getting to know other members and the staff, how wonderful to walk in and be warmly greeted at the desk, and to have people stop and chat. The Egym system is first class, I am obsessed with completing the circuit. I NEED my Lake Highlands Y!
Clean facility and able to use machines when needed.
The layout is much more roomy for all. Not claustrophobic like the Lakewood Y. I would not recommend the Lakewood Y- too crowded, badly built.
We enjoy the "personality" of the place. Great staff and leadership. We like to go two rounds of the E Gym circuit when we are there. We also make use of the treadmills. We appreciate the fact that the Y offers a prayer room where someone can get quiet and spend time with God. It is also great that there is a local church that offers parenting classes and community prayer and other topics important to families.

I usually go to the Plano Family YMCA and I wish your management would coach the management in the Plano YMCA who are pretty much useless and have no vision.
I'm always greated. I like my aquatics instructors - especially Arlene. I enjoy the coffee. Shower rooms are always clean.

Lake Highlands YMCA is a nice and clean facility. The classes are great and there is a pretty good schedule that would fit different peoples lifestyles. My only issue is the bathroom situation. The Men's locker room has 3 private bathrooms. There is one more bathroom outside for locker room for men. I assume it is similar for the women. On a busy day, it can be tough to get into a bathroom.
Also would love to see another platform and more machines for lifting. Moody, White rock, Semones have a bigger variety of machines. I understand their locations may also be bigger in size.
A great swimming pool and it's well maintained.
Carol, instructor at Chair-Yoga, Tuesday & Thursday, is a terrific instructor. Wish we could have her another day of the week.
