Very nice facilty. Something for everyone. The inside track is really nice to walk when the weather is bad outside.
Everything!!!!!!!!!
Nice good gym & good staff 👍
It’s very busy, but plenty of equipment and many chiices of classes.
The friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the facility
The classes and timings
The facility is a great size. The childcare is the main reason we joined, and our kids enjoy it.
The gym area is very loud but literally no other complaints. Love everything else. So clean and so many amenities
People and equipment
Friendly staff....socialization with other members....excellent instructors..

I love the Mary Free Bed Y, best one in Grand Rapids!
It’s a unique facility. I like it a lot.
The Les Mills instructors and staff in general are great.
Clean facility, good amount of equipment for the amount of people working out, our kids love going to childcare and the pool for family swim.
I love the gym and pool, but the women's locker room experience is subpar to the David D. Hunting Y.
Location
I have free silver sneakers entry in a neighboring gym. I love the Mary Freebed Y because it is diverse and accepting, and is a pleasing, yet efficient and well-equipped environment.... not to mention it has the very best instructors anywhere.
During Covid years, I continued to pay my dues even though I wasn't attending. I knew the Y was in financial trouble, so I stayed active with dues anyway. For all appearances sake, it seems it has apparently re-bounded.
Thanks everyone for helping me get my health back up and running… Jennifer Peterson 🌼
I like working out, walking the track and swimming. I like everything about the facility. I only wish the YMCA in Grand Rapids participated in the Silver Sneakers program. Regrettably, I will leave the Y later this year after I turn 65.
Amazing facility! Much cleaner then the Downtown Y.
We love the facility and all it has to offer! It’s kept very clean as well! Also love the diverse abilities that use this.
Friendly staff, great pool, clean safe environment
The facility is clean, staff is friendly and welcoming and their equipment is continually being upgraded.
I regularly go to your Y location for swimming and water aerobics. Pool is always nice and clean. The temperature of the air in the family pool is sometimes comfortable but other times it is quite chilly. You could also use new and better equipment for the water classes. The noodles are falling apart and the foam barbells are loose and don't work well under water. If you are going to offer water aerobic classes, the least you could do is have equipment that works for it's members. The instructors are awesome but there is nothing they can do when equipment is crappy!
People are always friendly. I like the variety of classes.
I do wish there were more classes that focused on seniors.
Friendly employees and helpful!
Clean, well equipped, friendly staff.
Close to home and clean.
I love the kidzone and all of the staff. When I see Jennifer, Heidi and Keenya I know my kiddos will be in good hands, they always go above and beyond.
The fitness floor has great equipment and the machine additions have been noticed. There does need to be an additional sitting hamstring curl or a hammer strength standing leg curl would be a great addition. The seated leg curl seems to always be in use with a line to use it.
My trainer Diane
My massage therapist Charity
Ally Sheeley who took care of hooking me up with these fine folks
I enjoying working out and walking with people of all ages and from many different backgrounds.
The facility is super-friendly, clean and well appointed.
My family joined the Y, the West Y, in 1972 where all 3 of our kids learned to play basketball through YBA! Our daughter and 2 other girls from that program went on to lat Division I BBALL. I was on the board at that Y, and our kids went through all of the swimming and diving classes. Then my husband switched to the new Downtown Y where he played early morning racquetball several mornings a week. After he passed away, I switched to the MFB in 2019 after serious surgery when I needed help rehabbing.
In short, the Y has always been there for us, and today, I enjoy going 4 days a week to workout and then walk 3 miles with my oldest and dearest friend. We know that our monthly membership fee also helps young people and other folks who normally could not afford those fees to also benefit from all the goodness the Y pours into Life.

The fitness instructors are great. The amount of classes for everyone are pretty great. The location is clean and friendly. They offer soneth8ng for everyone from beginner to advanced.
