Excellent equipment. Plenty of people to direct/assist those who are training. Everyone on the front desk & phones are always really helpful & pleasant.
It provides a large space so there is always opportunity to work out regardless of what time you decide to go. There are plenty of fun group classes of various levels.
I had a very good experience in the Y .. I took arthritis aqua aerobics with Mary .. she is very good in teaching and very committed

One request: it would be great if there was a hook inside the showers to hang a towel in the larger showers with the bench.

The staff is so warm and friendly
The class schedules work with my schedule, I’ve been asking to add another 6 AM class for sometime and my concern was addressed and another 6 AM class was added this past school year. I imagine other people were asking for the same thing and they actually listen to their clients. The classes are rigorous and I am challenged enough to see and feel the change in my body.
SHY has always been a great place to exercise and socialize with friends.

Friendly staff
I am so happy that the Y finally offers Pilates reformer classes. They are a wonderful addition to the other programs offered and allow for members to take classes that are otherwise cost-prohibitive for many.
The facility is huge and clean. In the vast workout area, there are many machines. Most of the Group exercises are great. The spring room is state of art. Most of all, people at the facility (welcoming reception stuff, private tutors, group exercises instructors) are professional and friendly. It has huge swimming pools

I’m an architect who has worked on various Y’s across the state and this one is by far one of the nicest facilities. Everything is updated, there are tons of staff around if I need any help and its a nice atmosphere. I also grew up going to this Y going to camp and learning to swim.
