Everything
Downtown Y has everything you need in a gym and central location is also nice. I also like the vintage feel of the gym.
I like the location, classes, instructors, equipment, pool, and hours of operation. The facility may be dated, but it is clean and has lots of amenities, plus a great staff!
I love your pool. Very clean. Not crowded. I like the new sauna too.
The Staff is Great Helpful in Every Aspect answering any questions in Providing Information
Thgere are a number of very strong posiitves in my opinion:
(1) Workout facilities ( weight room and upper tarck area) are very good,
(2)the pool is a real asset.
( 3) the showers are the best - warm with great pressure
(4) the front desk staff are always friendly and helpful.
(5) The circle of friends and acquantices I have made there are great. I always have a snse of camaraderie with the locker room guys
Love going there in the Morning. The staff is friendly. Brittany and Thomas are so welcoming. The facility has great equipment.
I like going to the downtown Y. The only problem is daytime parking.
pool awesome
I love the downtown Y great staff great location great classes and equipment and a true asset to the Syracuse community! Going to the Y it’s so relaxing for me it’s how I get a little “me” time in my busy life 😊
I am a SYAC member. The comradery with other SYAC members is wonderful. The staff is always friendly and helpful. If you work downtown, it is so much more than an athletic club.
I love the downtown Y - especially the inclusive rules that are considerate of queer patrons and the key access women's exercise room. Those make the experience of using the downtown Y very enjoyable and will keep me coming to the downtown Y in the future.
Old but great compared to the other bigger y's men locker room need updating with locker and get rid of the carpet too much rust and bacteria.
I like the downtown writers center and the pool. Those are the only places I’ve been to at the YMCA.
Place is a gem. They don’t make places like this anymore. I wish more people would see the value in the community that the Downtown Y offers to its members. Thank you for providing a place that makes everyone feel welcome and accepted and part of a community.
Staff is incredibly responsive, knowledgeable, and willing to help in any way to help.
I love the old school look to the rooms. Has a great staff, I hope it stays the same
I appreciate the downtown Y. It has all the amenities I need.
It’s a real community. The folks at the desk are kind and helpful. We often chat and laugh together.
It’s hard to put into words, but the downtown Y makes me feel like I’m part of a community. I’m not just a person with a gym membership. It’s not that I spend loads of time chatting with people, but there’s regulars, there folks I recognize from the City, and people are very conscientious and respectful of each other.
Excellent facility and helpful staff.
The pool was not overcrowded
I like the morning strength classes and running group with Ted.
Staff very helpful.
Variety of services and exercise equipment great
The staff and pool are wonderful.
The Downtown YMCA is a welcoming environment that brings in groups across ages, races/ethnicities, and socioeconomic backgrounds. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, the activities and exercise spaces are diversified, and it is accessible to a broad range of individuals. I've been to the Fayetteville, Baldwinsville, and North Syracuse Branches, and while they are great in their own rite and in some cases offer a wider range of programming, in my experience, they have always been crowded and severely lacking in attracting a diverse customer base. As a person of color, I do not feel as at home at those sites as I do at the Downtown YMCA, which is why I travel from Cicero to work out there. I always recommend the Downtown Y to those interested in joining a gym and getting started in pursuit of their fitness goals.
Although there are a variety of weights, these are not enough. There are no 15 pounds weight
It's a convenient location.
I definitely enjoy the cultural diversity that I see and experience on a daily basis around and at the YMCA
I’ve been going to the downtown Y of and on for 50 years. The people are great.

Only issue I have with the downtown YMCA is parking difficulty during winter months.
