Our daughter loves the Y leaders at her school. They have gotten to know her well and always make sure she has the drawing stuff she likes. The whole program communicates well with parents, gives us flexibility with our morning routine, and provides activities in a safe and familiar setting. One of the reasons we even looked into Syracuse Latin was because we needed morning childcare and we couldn't be more pleased with them.
They are available and ready to receive the kids every day and they keep them engaged the whole time.
Activities and readings that bring awareness of black history, women, racism, etc. Lots of arts and crafts activities, time outside, and homework time. I really appreciate the flexibility that we have to pick up at any time (rather than a fixed window to pick up the kids)
My kids love the program and the adults that work there. It is like a second family. The patience, understanding and kindness the staff demonstrates is outstanding. They get to know each child and form a lasting connection. Their communication with families is outstanding. Casey, Eden and Mark are wonderful. We have happily recommended it to another family that has already registered for next year.

Friendly staff and instructors. Very down to earth and relaxed atmosphere for working out. Many workout options for everyone (classes live and virtual, weights, swimming, basketball, etc). Really enjoy member diversity too

When the pool in my local Y branch is closed, I usually go to the Downtown Y. I find the reception staff friendly and helpful, the locker room clean and convenient, and the pool clean, well-lit, well-staffed, a good experience.

The only thing that I would like to see is for the YMCA to offer a day pass for people who may be interested in joining. Also, I've called several times to purchase a membership and no one ever calls me back. My sister has also called several times trying to purchase a membership for our brother and non one ever returned her calls.

The woman gym is private small and less crowds, also has more equipment than upstairs location

The pool is very clean and the lifeguards are nice. Kimilla keeps the women’s locker room spotless. I love the sauna. Also the front desk staff are very pleasant, especially Mya and Ken
I love coming downtown to the ymca for 12:10 classes but there needs to be a variety more and not just one instructor teaching 3 different types of classes. Also instructors should never tell their people how many classes she taught that day already and she was going to scale it down because she is tired or similar comments. This is our first and only class of the day and we want 100% of the instructor. Also the new system NEEDS TO BE CHANGED SO ALL LOCATIONS CAN BE SEEN AT SAME TIME.Otherwise we have to pull down one location at a time.

The staff are always friendly and my friends are there.
It’s my home away from home. I’m not sure what’s greater: my fitness experience or the number of lasting friendships I’ve made at the Downtown Y. And the staff are all a big part of what makes this place magic. It’s unconditional love! Thank you, Downtown Y!
The women have their own location that's separate from the men. The small gym and especially the private sauna.
Convenience, I wish they would open the racquetball courts back up.
