Everything and so clean
There’s only one thing I hate about the Manlius Ymca is that popular sign ups require setting alarms for 5:30 AM, I don’t see why you can’t start the sign-up time any more reasonable time of day. If the YMCA wants to promote good health, it should not require disturbing sleep time.
I very much enjoy my experience at the Y in the few weeks since my family joined. The staff, in particular, are cheerful, knowledgeable, and always willing to help. The facilities are excellent: clean, a wide variety of machines/bikes/etc., and well-maintained.
As one who has just started swimming laps for exercise, I sometimes find it difficult to find a free lane. I've tried coming at different times and about 1/3 of visits am not able to get in to swim.
On the whole, I am very pleased with our experience at the Y!

It is a great, modern and updated facility however, what makes is truly wonderful is it's staff!
Always friendly and helpful. Carrol (at the desk in the early morning) is always there ON TIME, with a smile on her face, to greet you. John, is the MAIN REASON the place always looks clean and inviting. He makes the place sparkle! He does such an amazing job and he is soooo friendly. We all call him the morning Mayor but, the truth is he is the HEARTBEAT of the Northwest YMCA. Tom, Tom and Dave are always on the "floor" to help and instruct and they are so kind! You cannot go wrong by joining this special family. If you have a hard time finding it, look for Carol at 5:30 every morning and you will discover it as she is truly the NORTH STAR of the NW YMCA! She is a beacon, she is always there. :)
Friendly employees, lots of classes, clean surroundings, lots of equipment. The pool area looks amazing, although I’ve never gone swimming. It has a lap pool and lazy river that you can jog against the current
We only go to the pool area and have focused mainly on the water walking pool on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Our 11 a.m. class with Terri on Monday, had an incident. It was unfortunate that there was not adequate back-up for the belligerent member who entered the therapy after being asked to wait until class was finished (a matter of a couple of minutes). I thought perhaps the Y needs a greater as people come into the pool area. I'm sure you are working on protocol. I did not feel in danger, but some other members of the class may have felt that they needed to defend our class leader. Their yelling may have exacerbated the situation.
Nicely appointed with lots of workout choices and lots of programs for everyone in the family.

The classes I have joined have been great. I tried yoga , barre and strength and cardio. So many different options and wonderful instructors.
This facility is clean and has a great track! I come here primarily for the programming since my North Y branch no longer offers many classes that are challenging- and management has never been very open to dialog. Congratulations on a wonderful facility.
