Ventilation is poor. Ceiling fans would be welcomed to move the air and/or heat generated by a full class. The lobby/waiting area is dark, and the space poorly used in consideration how small it is. The decor is lacking, it could use more peaceful/artistic artwork typically connected to yoga. A brighter coat of paint for the walls, an inexpensive water sculpture, remove the old carpeting etc. Doesn't have to cost a lot to be more inviting. In General, lovely staff, and positive environment. Gorgeous view of course!
Knowledgeable and friendly instructors and staff
Beautiful space and vibration of the studio. We've come every day this week and intend to continue. Already recommended multiple people for the Sea studio in particular, but whenever someone asks about Yoga in Vancouver, Semperviva is the place to go.
I would love to see a greater variety of more established teachers in the vinyasa classes in the morning. If Chantal's class isn't your favourite, it can sometimes be challenging to find classes to go to some days. I know earlier morning classes don't work so well for Emily to teach, but I'd love to see her teaching a class at noon sometime.
Friendly staff, great classes
The quality of the instructors.
I am and always have been very satisfied with the instruction at Semperviva yoga. Every instructor is very good. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.
Some classes are too crowded. I don't know how you can deal with this situation.
more Yin classes
Very friendly, great instructors, super close to my house!
excellent.
You're limited by the space. It feels confined and cramped.
It's quite expensive after the 2 month deal has passed.
classes are too crowded
Nice studio atmosphere
Very accommodating staff, convenient location, good yoga room, but mostly it's your staff, they deserve high marks.
Everything, but especially your people.
Thank you so much for putting my membership on hold for the 11+ weeks that I was away.
Great instructor. Good directions and easy on the eyes.
The vibes, the studio, the teachers, all of the friendly employees!
Nice, clean calming environment topped with top quality yoga guidance.
Open, friendly & accepting of all levels
The changing rooms are not ideal and overcrowded and I don't like the coed situation
Welcoming
Outstanding teachers. Sun Studio had an ant problem for a period of time and the teachers would let us know, go beyond the call of duty to keep the ants away from us, and sometimes found humour in the situation. Being in this environment does test your yoga, but it sure helps when the teachers deliver their classes and then go above and beyond to make us more comfortable.
An eclectic mix of teachers that are suited for this smaller homey studio space. Teachers have wonderful personalities and bring stimulating asana sequences. Good quality mats to use and the props are clean. Yoga Advisers are helpful.
Nothing you could do. It was just a bit crowded on Sunday morning
the yin class on thursday evening, the friendly staff, the location.
I started doing yoga around 1992. In those days you started with a beginners class and when you had mastered the basic principles you moved to intermediate poses. This made sure that people were doing the poses correctly and more importantly safely. Not now. I would like so see separate beginner and intermediate classes both for safety and so that I can progress in my practice. Also, in the old days, the instructor would say where you should be feeling a pose. This made sure that people were doing the pose correctly and again, more importantly, safely. I see many people in the classes doing things in an unsafe way. For example, one of the key principles to protect your back is holding your abdominal lock (the Uddiyana Bandha) during the class. None the instructors tells people that. Very dangerous for the beginners. Thank goodness I have very good instruction when I was a beginner. As an intermediate practitioner, because I had the benefit of that training I can do the poses safely.
Compared to the other yoga studios, I find the Kits Beach location a bit darker (less sunlight...nothing you can do), but also a little overcrowded with mats and people. Would it be possible to reduce the max size of each class perhaps?

The kits studio has a beautiful space, is spacious, great light and ventilation. The classes are comfortable even when there is a lot of people. This is not the case for example at the studio on trafalgar and broadway, which is usually really unconfortable.
If it's a little bit full.
