I really would like to do something about municipalities that are dictating crazy terms and overcharging especially bank owned properties - Leyden Township is great example of this....their pre-sale inspections that have nothing to do with safe/health but more on detail side like Franklin Park - Maywood - Lyons - Cicero and charging ridiculous escrows/bonds like Lyons/Bellwood etc. Also the rental registrations - 8 hours attendance on crime free seminars and paying annual inspections and having these picky inspection results is ridiculous....what are the municipalities doing for landlords - NOTHING - just overcharging and making the landlord to be responsible for everything what their tenant does...sitting 8 hours on the seminar on crime free especially if you are a licensed real estate agent is ridiculous thus you know more than they really give you and spent pretty much the whole day is waste of time. The inspections are to find details and not health/safety oriented and I do not believe they should charge any money...for what??? If they want to really help - that is what they are claiming then help shall be for free...this is just another excuse to charge extra money and therefore the rent has to be more expensive for the tenants. I am not sure how can they have so much power and do pretty much what they want.

My absolute biggest disappointment with NAR in the 46 years I have been a Realtor is the fact that they let the Republican party limit the deduction for real estate taxes to $ 10,000. They better be lobbying very hard to get that revised back to unlimited, the way it was. The $ 10,000 limit absolutely screws so very many hard working Americans who happen to live in states and areas where that $ 10,000 isn't realistic. Put my dues to good use and get it changed.
