My daughter particpated in the summer camp, and really enjoyed it - the play, field trips, swimming, and I liked that you all had her reading, doing educational activities as well. I notice the facility has a certain vibe, great spirit among the staff and the members.

I have been a member of the Y for over 30 years. I love the pool aerobics the best, but I enjoy the exercises in the gym. I come to the Y five days a week. I also have made many wonderful friends through the years at the Y. The staff and teachers are the best
You can swim, play pickle ball and they have every kind of exercise equipment you could ask for.

The exercise and weight training equipment are well maintained. The ventilation system seems to work well at keeping the temperature cool and comfortable. I like being able to start my workouts at 7 am during the week. Friendly staff.

The downriver YMCA is consistently clean, well staffed and well-maintained. It makes my exercise routine easier to do. I am also impressed with all the other family, youth and community activities that are held at the downriver YMCA. I think it’s an excellent community resource.

My spouse and I have been looking to join a local gym and recently decided to visit the Downriver Family YMCA. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by Sheryl, who was kind, patient, and incredibly helpful as she gave us a tour and explained our membership options. She took the time to confirm our preferred names and pronouns, and reassured us that the YMCA is a safe and affirming space. When we returned for our first workout, she even greeted us by name.
In a time when it is more important than ever for LGBTQ+ people to have spaces that affirm our identities and protect marginalized communities, the Downriver Family YMCA stands out as a place of genuine care and inclusion. I am deeply grateful to know this is a community we can be part of.
