The camp had some amazing counselors who ran the camp very well! There were so many activities and they were all so much fun for the kids!
The kids loved horse back riding and archery and bb guns. OUr children said that all the other activities were a blast too! We have two children children ages 7 and 11. The only complaint they both shared was about archery and a lack of time for that activity. The 11 year old said that she shot only ONE arrow. The 7 year old said she shot THREE arrows. Both said there was extra time afterwards that they could have done more shooting.
Overall, the staff was friendly and amazing! The kids loved Camp Cullen- Operation Purple!

Upon returning from camp, our daughter was excited about the activities at the camp and the interactions and friends she made with other campers and camp leaders. She had a wonderful time and is looking forward to returning.
My kids said it was the best week of their life
The kids loved the camp!!!! They had so much fun meeting the counselors and camp staff along with new friends. They loved the climbing tower the zip line and hanging out with new friends. My only recommendation is to ensure more cold water stations are available and alternate inside activities are available for the kids that can’t handle the TEXAS heat. Thank you for making our summer great!
Camp Cullen was very well organized and I never had a doubt my kids were going to be well cared for! My kids came home saying they were never bored and had the best week of their lives! I can’t thank camp Cullen enough for giving my military kids an amazing camp experience.
My child was able to meet new friends and have so much fun doing outdoors activities!
I saw a positive change for both my kids' ages 14 and 12 who attended the Camp Cullen program. Camp had plenty of activities each day and night, and both of them bonded closely with other campers. A week without any devices was nice to unplug and be able to socialize with others. My kids are looking forward to going back next year.
Kids gets to experience many activities and help them grow and be independent in life. They built friendships and confidence.
Our kids loved the zip line and climb wall. Unfortunate for the low water in the lake because they would have really like to try the skiing. Maybe next year more rain! But the love the food especially the deli bar! It’s a beautiful, well kept camp the YMCA has at Camp Cullen and recommend it for all
My daughter absolutely LOVED her week at Camp Cullen and didn't want it to end! She did the regular camp activities she's done at other summer camps like swimming, art, and horseback riding, but she was able to try so many great things that she'd never been able to do before - kayaking, ziplining, the challenge course, and the huge water slide and dropping into the lake was a new adventure for her and brought her experience there to a whole new level. I even got to hear all about the frog they got to disect and learn about in the science lab! Camp Cullen has special memories for me as a child 30+ years ago and I'm so happy that now she has wonderful memories of going there too! Thank you Camp Cullen and Operation Purple for making her summer fun and memorable!
Our children loved the variety of activities. They enjoyed the adventure camp. Most of the time it kept them busy. They were safe and taken care of. Wish I sent them with more personal entertainment items (card games, books, small crafts) to occupy siesta time. May be something to include in your pack list or provide board/card games in the cabins.
From intake to pickup everything was smooth. I would suggest more pics of the younger kids but overall great experience.

The water activities, the overnight camping and zip lining. My daughter was there for the two week teen session and wasn’t ready to come home.

YMCA Camp Cullen is a great program for kids to unplug and enjoy the great outdoors and making new friends. The campers get to try a variety of activities and learn about lots of things.
This year's camp was enjoyed by my 2 campers as they came back "campsick."
The programs are very diverse, and they are fun to hang out with your cabin while doing so.
