The teachers at Ips ELC are amazing!! They create amazing curriculum and my son comes home talking about what he’s learned non stop. They are the unsung hero’s of the Ipswich YMCA. Conversely-the Ipswich YMCA doesn’t care about the children in the ELC programs. Gym classes are sporadic as the sports director is often MIA and there is no backup plan in place. This summer the kids are losing their 2 days of outdoor pool access and receiving only 1 day of splash deck access only. We choose this program for the benefits the Y brings and the Ipswich Y continuously takes it away from our children while increasing tuition.

The kids enjoy the outdoor pool as well as the lifeguards and front desk. Everyone is so friendly when we come in and their swim lessons are top notch! The new lifeguard we met on Memorial Day, I believe his name was Andrew, was so genuine with the kids that were there and is super personable. He’s definitely a blast to have around and he can get the kids pumped for swim tests! Wonderful asset to the Ipswich Y!

Great programs for all ages and abilities
I have always loved the Ipswich Y! It is clean, easy to navigate, you can get in and out quickly and the front desk is always friendly and pleasant.
The Ipswich Y is a great place to get in shape and stay in shape with a huge number of programs of all types and for all ages. Most importantly, the staff is great, supportive and friendly.

Generally speaking, scheduling and signing up for lessons has been an easy experience, the program is done well and takes into account individual swimmer abilities, flexing as needed.
I do want to take a moment to highlight one of the current instructors, Peter. He has been absolutely wonderful with the lessons my kids have been in with him. He is incredibly patient and very observant and aware of where each student is at. He has taken extra time to coach some in small individual spurts without detracting from the whole lesson. He focuses on technique to move them ahead while still keeping it fun and enjoyable. While they have always looked forward to swimming time, the confidence that Peter has been able to instill in my kids has shifted how they approach the water. We are now much more frequent fliers at free swim and happy to see him when he's guarding too! I hope you realize what a wonderful employee you have in him.
