Great staff
Great camp program! So much activities for the kids to do. The counselors are all amazing! I can't wait for my son to go back again next year!
Love the classes …
My child had the best time coming each week. We love that he has time to be outside every day and that he safe, happy, and cared for while we are at work. The extended day options made camp possible for us with our work schedules. We look forward to next summer!
It’s affordable, welcoming and offers a variety of classes.
Great atmosphere, equipment, staff.
Best run y we’ve ever been to!
Friendly atmosphere and variety of programs.
Kenzie is exceptional and has assembled a great team. She went the extra mile during the school year to ensure a smooth transition from school to camp, and gave extra TLC to my kiddo when she had a flare during camp. I honestly don’t know how she does it—I felt like she was super high touch, and I know other moms felt that way too. She does not get ruffled by anything.
It has everything an individual or family needs!
Clean, extensive work out equipment, friendly staff.
The adaptive program, staff was number one each and everyone of them we all so kind to Lucas. The multiple options for kids to do throughout the day. I do wish there was a way for the adaptive program to be more affordable for families or offer scholarships. The criteria for qualifying for assistance doesn’t take into consideration the amount families pay out of pocket for serviced for our children might be good to consider this and net amount not gross considering medical costs families with special needs children pay for above and beyond the typical/standard.
Camp Sterling Woods is amazing! The staff are incredible- engaging with the kids and responsible. The kids spend almost all their time active and outside, the best way to be in the summertime! My kids have two very different personalities, and camp brought out the best in both of them. The wonderful stories from camp keep coming, so many great memories!
The kids really love going to sports camp, they enjoy the variety of games and the staff’s positive energy.
My son had so much fun this summer!
Everything!! The staff is awesome! My kids come home tired everyday from having a full day of fun!
Great community institution with plenty of offerings to keep everyone healthy and engaged!
The Sterling Woods Camp is absolutely fantastic! This was my son’s first year, and he had an absolute blast thanks to the amazing counselors, fun activities, and thoughtful program. He had a rough start when another camper’s behavior made him upset and nervous, but Jimmy immediately stepped in, supported my son through the situation, and helped him feel safe so he could get back to enjoying camp. What really stood out was that Jimmy continued to check in with him throughout the week, making sure he was having fun and feeling comfortable. That kind of care and attention made all the difference. Thank you for giving my son such a great summer!
Variety of activities inside and out, great staff everyone is so nice. Kids are kept busy and have a great time.
Great activities and staff. My camper thoroughly enjoyed his weeks at camp. Excellent customer service.
My son has attended for 7 years and he loves it. He loves returning to the counselors and swimming...of course! As a mom, I love knowing he is having fun in a safe place filled with caring staff, exploring activities he would otherwise not be able to experience. The specialists at the camp are amazing at helping kids with a variety of needs. We are truly fortunate to have such a nurturing camp in our community.
Arts and crafts
The staff is incredible! I’ve never met anyone who knows my child like them! Kenzi remembers everyone’s names and it’s so impressive! We LOVE the y summer program!
Everyone is so involved in ensuring good structure and making it fun!
The staff have been awesome! Jimmy has been on top of making sure our daughter is comfortable! I know she is safe while at camp and away from us. Will definitely be attending Summer 2026!
Through the really hot days, and the rainy ones my daughter has had a blast at Sterling Woods!
Adventure. The outdoors. And so much physical activity! Camp is definitely too much for some kids that lack the endurance, but for children like my daughter who’s body craves physical exertion that I cannot always keep up with or occupy- she had a great time!
She’s already requesting to be signed up for more than the 4 or 5 weeks she had this summer!
The Hogwarts camp had a lot of variety, great counselors, my daughter had a fun time. If anything she wishes it was more than one week!
From my daughter: "it was really creative, and a lot of fun. The way that they had us do quidditch, I loved that part."
My kids had fun at Gymnastics camp! It was an affordable price. Loralee is awesome!
My daughter had opportunities to have hands on experiences, challenges, and earn trade in tickets based on positive actions she played a part in! Away from the electronics and out in the elements the staff made a memorable experience, which is NOT an easy feat with preteens-teens!
When swim became too simple, repetitive, or routine the life guards came up with challenges to make it fun to meet certain goals and earn stickers, staff handed out tickets based on core values that allows my child the opportunity to trade in and have autonomy, the ropes course staff encouraged her to literal new heights and let her experience risk taking and problem solving with safety at the forefront!
Did she leave camp some days looking unhappy? Sure. But all of that would turn around with a little time in the ac and a snack, then the flood gates of stories, fun, and excitement would pour out!
My daughter wishes the summer was longer just to have more time at camp with the friends she made, the staff she felt so connected with, and all the way up to leadership she felt comfortable to advocate for anything she needed.
Thank you for an amazing experience!

I love the well roundedness of the program. That it hits all types of campers and gives the students a day and week that’s different from the last. I also like that my kids get to know the staff and they’re the same adults working with them after school or were their counselors last summer. They’re watching my kids grow up and are consistent in their lives and that’s so important.
Evelyn has said since her first year at chipmunk that she can’t wait to grow up and be a staff member some day!
Well done YMCA team!!
