I love EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!!! LIST IS TO LONG!!
the environment to allow children to play in a semi-competitive set up with the best ball choice.
First of all, I need to say that Kayla, the coach for The Gauntlet team from Fredericksburg Va changed my son's life. My son has gigantism, and unfortunately, he has had 5 knee/leg surgeries that do not allow him to play sports like Football. Currently, my 10-year-old son is 5 ft 11 and well overweight due to his illness. Kayla took First name removed on her team after the deadline because he played for before locked before we resigned. She has given my son a passion for a sport that never would have crossed my mind for him. Through her program with the PGA Jr league, my son has learned sportsmanship, teamwork, but most importantly, he has learned to be proud of himself. He absolutely loves golf. He proudly tells everyone he meets that he plays for the PGA Jr League. My son is not welcomed in many programs for his age group because he is a grown man's size. But the PGA Jr team not only welcomed him but embraced him and gave him happiness and passion. And I am ever thankful to Kayla and the PGA Jr League.
Low stress. Seemed like there were kids of varying abilities which was nice. Coaches were helpful and engaging but made sure it was a fun environment.
I like the opportunity given to the golfers to play at a competitive level while learning & having fun.
Dedicated coach that was energetic and had unique ability to work with young boys and girls.
Great coach !
This was a life saver activity for us during the pandemic. Having a sport to play and to have kids be with kids again was priceless.
Teamwork among the children, decision making, and collaboration.
Great program. Kids learned a lot and great way to meet new people
My kids love it!
It is a fun, friendly atmosphere where the kids learn a lot about the sport.
Season needs to be longer or more practices
This was the most educational and competitive year for this program. The coaching staff was excellent!
It's a great way for kids to learn the game. I would recommend there be a little more course management assistance from coaches/parents as 6, 7, and 8 yr olds aren't quite ready for that level of knowledge. And it would speed up the pace of play. Overall, it is a great program and we have been very happy with it.
Introduces golf to kids and teens in the community where other programs would typically be too costly. Makes golf accessible to average middle class kids.
As a parent, I enjoy watching the kids grow and become more confident in their games.
The concept of the program is great. However, it was sometimes not as
I appreciate the opportunity for my child to be with his peers, outside, learning a game of focus and resilience. In light of the circumstances and restraints surrounding the pandemic, I am especially grateful that my child had a chance to be a part of an activity that got him out of the house! He has a new appreciation of the game and I saw his skills blossom!
Mentoring and kids learning the rules and etiquette of golf
