The group exercise and t wonderful staff .
Nice, clean facility and friendly, helpful staff. Love the child care rooms. My children enjoy playing there.
Wish the website was better. It is very difficult to figure out what programs are available at my local Y using the website.
Great instructors!
Plenty of classes to choose from. Full gym equipment. An overall sense of a community’.
I enjoy water aerobics. Temperature of water is kept at a comfortable temperature & teachers are good.
well diversified and well managed
Love West Lake Houston Y!!! Great!!!
The hours are great, the selection of equipment and classes are fantastic.
Love you group fitness classes. Lots of variety and times. Also like the new virtual classes for when I can't get to an instructor led class. Even more options!
I think the instructors are very good.
I love all the different classes and the times. The only thing I would change is more classes on Friday.
Everything
I love how inclusive the programs and activities are at the Y.
The virtual classes
Friendly instructors and variety of classes.
I go to Silver Sneakers. It is not covered by my Insurance, but I pay anyway. Keeps me active
Did Ec variety of classes and quality instructors
Very well organized sports center
Sports groups are positive experience, games stay positive. They are welcoming to all levels of play/skill
The people who work with the girls volleyball, top to bottom, are great. They coach the kids, encourage the kids, and ensure a good time for the kids.
The staff and facilities
Great instructors. However the Silver Sneakers Yoga class on Monday Wednesday & Friday are so crowded it’s hard to see the instructor. A stage/platform would solve that problem. Or adding additional classes may help.
AOA activities and trips are well organized and fun. Ginger does such a wonderful job choosing the events and cares about each person.
I like the senior size classes
I love the spin classes. I also like the flexible hours.
There are several classes to choose from with good instructors. They are at good, convenient times. There are also AOA scheduled for social interactions such as first Friday of the month senior birthdays for that month with drawings for a prize. Also, interesting speakers and activities are provided with instruction, if needed. Some activities are free; some are at reasonable cost.
all rooms and classes are very accessible
I love silver sneakers, but wish there was an afternoon class on Tuesday/Thursday. Also miss the former 10 pm closing time Monday thru Thursday. Closes too early on the weekends
I did this survey recently and don't think I want to do it again this soon
I do like the Y a bunch.
I like the renovated building and appreciate a nicer space upstairs which allows me to do floor exercises in a very pleasant atmosphere. Others also think the same way, as it is sometimes difficult to find a space to place a mat. Perhaps some of the equipment is not placed in such a way to be conducive to using the space to the max and some of the equipment does not appear to be overly utilized.
I was a little alarmed one day when one of my 5ib weights rolled across the floor towards the railing, luckily it stopped just before the railing where there is a gap which would have allowed the weight to roll out and down to the reception area.
I am currently working on my own to increase my strength, and when appropriate I will use some of the group activities.

The focus is mostly on strength and wellness, not competition or looks. The childwatch staff is the best in Houston.
