I would love to have TRX classes offered. And the outside space could be used for a big soccer field instead of the mini covered space in the middle. Add a few basket ball outside too, it would be nice and a good use of space.
Variety of options!
Scheduling is good and your staff members are friendly.
Your programs and activities are suited for the needs of the whole family to be met.
The activities are well balanced for all ages and the time slots are very thought fully planned out.
The people are nice. Great exercise programs for everyone. Clean facility.
Very good instructors, good variety!
Great classes. Clean. Love the childcare
Classes well organized. Class registration promotes fairness for all. All instructors do not use the microphones which would facilitate an improved a hearing experience for those who have hearing issues.
I like the group classes in the mornings. I just wish Body Flow would come back. I really miss it,
I wish the childcare hours were longer, or started earlier in the afternoon.
Free exercise and pool access
The atmosphere at the YMCA is friendly, encouraging, and age-appropriate. The pace is slower, and senior citizens find the YMCA more enjoyable and engaging.
The facility is great, and I especially love the heated pool. I would really love to see more group exercise classes offered.
Thanks,
Love the variety of classes and quality of instructors. It is sometimes frustrating that some classes fill before the supposed 72 hour period. I keep checking in and then the class is already full (John's Combo Cardio and Stretch classes). It seems sensible to do cardio first then stretch after when warmed up so adding a class in the morning was nice but not a great solution for me.
I love the group exercise classes.
Love the all the Senior Forever Well classes.
For seniors
The Y is affordable and convenient. There are a number of class such as Forever Well and Classic Silver Sneakers that fit my needs.
The gym is not too crowded which is the main problem with gyms in the city. The gym is also well stocked and kept up well. Parking is not difficult.
I like that we NOW have yoga classes at various times, not just 8am. And I’m happy with the quality of the teachers. Also, I like the Stretch and Restore class, depending on who’s teaching.
Nice team and good friendly workout equipment, make you feel cozy and sweet home feeling
I like this gym is very clean and very helpful. I have no problem asking questions and they’re willing to help you with them. Very nice workers always willing to help you when you have any questions like the question I just had..
Love this YMCA. AMAZING Staff, beautiful facility, great Leadership Team and Executive Director. 10 out of 10!
Accommodating schedule for classes and well run children’s programs
The Y has been a MAJOR aspect of my life! I attended summer day camp & took swim lessons at Cossaboom Y in elementary school. I swam at the Y pool after my high school swim practice for more pool time throughout high school. The summer after I graduated I lifeguarded the lap pool opening until I switched to day camp counselor around 8:00 a.m. Working with kids at the Y gave me a love for them. I then pursued a degree in child psychology. I worked in both residential & partial hospital programs & then began working as a special education teacher. I’ve swam at Trotter since The Houstonian’s cheaper baby Bayou Park Club closed over 30 years ago. I’m now retired & still swimming! My life would be so different if it wasn’t for the Y!!!
We are so fortunate to have an outdoor heated pool.
A lot of varied activities and 4 days of Pickle Ball.
Really like the Foster YMCA … so many great things - great fitness instructors; excellent facility; friendly Y staff; easy to get in and out. Thank you Foster team!
Kids sports, the Dynamo program, summer camp
There is a great variety of classes you can now participate in. Thank you, Thadd for listening and working hard to please so many people.
Love the new Zumba class with Leyla.

I love the Les Mills high intensity workouts like Body Attack, which you offer a fair bit, and Body Combat, which I often find at more times at the Trotter YMCA. Your workout equipment is easy to use and the area is fairly well supervised with trainers who can offer a spot or other short assistance. I also find the clientele at Foster among the friendliest of any in the city. I honesty don't know why that is, but other locations often have a different atmosphere such that participants REALLY don't want any newcomers to 'take their spot' in a class, but at Foster people are always happy to make way for a person coming to a class for the first time without resentment. There also seems to be a more upbeat tone in the classes I take there, with people encouraging each other and a real effort to try to have fun during the workout. I love when I have time to get over to Foster YMCA. Everyone there is friendly and well-informed and pleasant to work with.
