I like just about everything that I go to the Y for. My principle critiques are;
1) congestion and waiting time to use strength training equipment due to people using their cell phones,
2) cell phone use in the locker room, and
3) frequency the hot tub is not available for various reasons.
Note that I've been to other Y's in the US where cell phone use is not allowed in the locker rooms and signs are proximately displayed in work out areas advising members to avoid cell phone in respect for others.
Clean, bright, with friendly staff. No annoying loud music.

The variety of classes including on demand classes, adds substantial flexibility. The cleanness of the rooms and equipment ate top-notch. I use three different locations and it helps me to do my workout regardless the side of town I'm at. The family oriented environment is pleasant, too. I love YMCA because of the quality of the facilities, the service and the mision that embraces which is deeply rooted in Christian values.
The only thing that it could be better is to get rid of teenagers at the front desk. Most of them can't get off their phones. It might be a bit silly, but I rather see elder people at the front because they look at you and say hi.

A lot of activities to choose from
There are lots of machines and free weights. Less waiting for equipment to use. Safe indoor track is so nice. There are a variety of classes to take. I really enjoy the open gym times.
I love the BODY PUMP classes and yoga.
The folks are friendly and the instructors care about their classes.
I have belong to McWilliams for almost 2 years and it has been a fantastic experience! Great teachers! Lots of variety in activities meeting the needs of all ages and even families! I am familiar with several other while locations in McWilliams definitely has the most to offer in the Houston area! The place is immaculately clean top to bottom. I even saw a man one day, cleaning the dust boards! pretty much anything you need to maintain your physical health is available at McWilliams!

You offer a variety of group exercises that fit all ages.
I joined primarily for the group fitness classes - I do wish there were more offerings as a few of my favorites are sometimes pretty crowded, but overall, I'm pleased. Love the instructors, they're all so welcoming. The step classes need new equipment, though - those steps have no traction and I've almost rolled my ankle twice trying to step onto an unstable platform.

Choices. My wife and I are seniors; many activities/programs for us. Just wish that pickleball was a little more user friendly. Seems people do not take the 3-5 and 1-3 times very seriously. I know several people who have quit playing as a result.
So far i have only worked out on my and and with a trainer, Andres Jaspe, who is GREAT! Ai like the variety of equipment, machines and spaces at this facility. I plan to begin swimming lessons this spring!
I love the water aerobics.
I can arrange different times with the other part of the YMCA. I enjoy the water activities. I wish they had them more around lunchtime.instead early in the morning.
How are the people you hire are in it for the right reasons
The instructors are talented and compassionate and encouraging to everyone in class.
This was my first time visiting this location! My father was having an outpatient surgery right near by and I came by for a spin class to shake of my nerves! Worked like a charm and met some great folks in the process! Highly recommend!!
Like senior classes
I like the classes. My favorite teachers are Dayanne (for HIIT), Laurie, and Kim. My kids loved decorating cookies on Valentines Day.
Lots of variety and time. Friendly and knowable staff.
